[𝟓] 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐘

Start from the beginning

"Not really."

He nods, shaking me lightly. He pulls me away, "What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry," I sob, "I can't wear this dress."

He laughs softly, "No one said you had too." He wipes my tears away with his thumb, "Can you tell me why?"

"I'm not pretty enough for that dress, Enzo."

His eyes soften, "You're beautiful, Aurora." He puts his palm against my tear-stained cheek.

"I am?"

"I don't lie, Darling."

"Are you sure I'll look fine?"

He narrows his eyes, "If I didn't think you'd look good, would I get it?"

"No."

He puts his hands in the air, "Exactly. Now put the fucking dress on and then we can go dance, 'Kay?"

I laugh, "Fine."

He smiles, then leaves the room, shutting the door behind him. I glance back at the dress, fuck it.

I slip the dress on over my underwear, stilling as I realize he had just seen me in my underwear, I giggle.

I slip on the matching red stilettos, liking the feeling of them. I grab my phone, walking out the room and back downstairs where Enzo is standing. He smirks, looking me over, "You ready, darling?"

I nod, "Ready as I'll ever be."

He laughs, "You'll be okay, I promise."

My body stills, "Promises don't mean shit."

He ignores me and continues to walk until we get to his car. We both get in, buckling our seatbelts at the same time.

Enzo drives silently, a scowl placed on his face. I roll down my window, putting my hand out to feel the wind. I giggle, unbuckling my seatbelt and getting up onto my knees. "Aurora..." Enzo warns.

I laugh, sticking my body out, my hair flying around my face, I scream, letting the wind wake my yells. "Fuck yeah!" Both of my arms go up, causing Enzo to grunt.

"Get the fuck back in before you hurt yourself."

"I feel so alive!" I giggle, looking over at the car behind us and waving to them. Enzo grabs my knee, causing the car to serve, I scream.

Enzo slows down, parking when he gets into a empty cornfield. He gets out, coming around to my side, "What the actual fuck? Get. In."

I sigh, doing as I'm told. Enzo gets back into the car, giving me a hard stare before rolling up my window and locking it. "Really? I'm not a kid."

"You were acting like one."

I roll my eyes, "I was having fun, Enzo."

He looks at me, "We don't have time for fun. We're here."

I look up at the bar, I read the sign, 'Clementine's Joint'. I get out of the car, walking up to Enzo. He grabs the back of my neck, pulling me close to him. "Stay by my side. Got it?"
