The atmosphere in the room was solemn as Senior Inspector Avneet Kaur delved into the old case files, her expression serious and focused. Suddenly, the door creaked open, and a familiar figure entered, bearing two steaming cups of coffee.
"Inspector, your coffee," he announced with a warm smile.
Avneet glanced up, her brows furrowed. "I'm not sleepy, Abhishek," she retorted, her tone firm. "I don't rely on caffeine to keep my eyelids open all night."
"Pride!" Abhishek exclaimed playfully. "Alright, if you don't want it, but this is Abhishek's special brew."
Avneet couldn't help but smile despite herself. "You know how to trap me," she admitted, reaching for the mug. "No one can resist your coffee. You should open a coffee shop."
"Was that a compliment?" Abhishek teased.
Avneet smirked. "Take it as you wish," she replied cryptically.
As she took a sip and settled back in her chair, she spoke with determination. "The crimes against women are escalating, and you boys are partly to blame."
Abhishek sighed, realizing the gravity of the situation. "Avneet, you have a point," he conceded. "It's still a male-dominated society, and I'm sorry for that."
"Don't apologize," Avneet reassured him. "You're not the problem."
Their conversation took a lighter turn, filled with laughter and camaraderie, until the telephone interrupted their moment.
Abhishek's expression turned serious as he listened to the voice on the other end. "Another murder," he muttered, concern etched on his face.
Avneet's eyes widened in alarm. "What's happened?" she asked, her voice tinged with urgency.
"It's at SKM Engineering College," Abhishek replied, his tone grim.
Without a moment's hesitation, they abandoned their coffee mugs and rushed out the door, ready to face the challenges that awaited them.
