I got up and walked to where Chase and Leo were standing. "For the record, it's a two way street." I whispered making Leo laugh.

____

After school, Chase was helping me study for my history exam for Friday, but we came across problems pretty quickly. Namely missing pages and old information.

"Leo, read what's on page 47 of your history book." Chase instructed taking mine off the table and over to the middle cyber desk where Leo was studying.

"I don't have a page 47, I have a 4, 12, 32 and what I hope is gum on 98." Leo responded.

"Give Adam five bucks and you'll have an answer." I aided walking over to them.

"Five bucks?" Leo repeated, I shrugged

"It used to be a quarter but last time he got food poisoning from the tail in my lunch food."

"A tail of what?" Leo asked with a disgusted look.

"A mouse I think."

"Can we focus please?" Chase sighed exasperatedly. "Listen to this, chapter four, 'Horseless cardigans taking over the streets of America.'" He let out another sigh and leaned back. I wrote down what he said on my open notebook, listen if we're getting tested over the book and this is what the book says... 2+2 will somehow equal 7 if it means I pass.

"Is that going to be on the test?" I asked looking up at them. They ignored me.

"Other schools teach on laptops and tablets. We read from textbooks that warn us the British coming." Leo said sarcastically. "We need to do something that will bring Mission Creek to the 21st Century."

"Ohh, maybe I can help." Davenport spoke, coming out of thin air.

"No!" We all responded instantly, not a moment's hesitation.

"What? I'm a genius tech mogul. I could revolutionize your whole school. Why wouldn't you want me to help."

"Because every time you try to help, it starts in a good place and then your ego takes over and ruins everything." Leo answered

"That is not true!" Davenport protested. "Give me one example!"

"Last week you gave me a backpack."

"You said you needed a backpack."

"A backpack... not this." Leo pulled up his bag where Davenport's face stood out against the white with the words Davenpack written below.

"All the guys un the office love theirs." Davenport defended.

"Trust me. They don't."

"You don't get it, this is our high school you're talking about." Chase piped up.

"Yeah whatever you mess up there will affect us everyday." Leo confirmed.

"Yeah like the time you released the 'Davenphone' and it short circuited on the chimp at the zoo. My ears are still ringing from the trombones brutal assault song." I grimaced as I remembered it. It was during basketball practice too, I had to run extra for the disturbance.

"Guys, I promise I won't embarrass you. This is about your school and not about me. And that chimp shouldn't of eaten it!" I gave a nod of agreement to that.

"Well, our school could really use the help." Chase relented.

"Fine, but you keep that ego under control." Leo warned.

"Don't worry, my ego is officially checked." Davenport scoffed and began walking out of the lab, he made it three steps before his phone started ringing with the ringtone, 'Davenport, Davenport. Somebody wants to call Davenport!' "What come on that's just catchy." He defended himself.
