Chip Switch

Leo and I were dancing to the music in the teachers elevator. The bell dinged signaling we hit the requested level.
"Dooley! Davenport!" Perry exclaimed. Leo jumped and I giggled.
"What are you doing in my elevator?"
"I'm enjoying the music, today is love songs from the 90s'." Leo answered.
"Wanna dance?" I asked and walked out of the elevator.
"See ya." I waved and walked over to Adam.
"Listen up space fillers! This week is emergency preparedness week. An emergency can happen at anytime. So when the alarm sounds, you must evacuate the building in an orderly fashion. Like cattle. If cattle had acne and braces and a future filling up my gas tank." Parry cackled and walked off.
"Oh, man! I wish I had Bree's super speed! Because you do not want to be stuck walking behind cows in an emergency. Trust me ok that." Adam shuddered.
"You would trade your super strength for Bree's super speed? Man, if I had your strength, I'd just run out of he building juggling those cows." Chase scoffed.
"Yeah, and if I had Willow's elements I would've froze you two the second I saw you." Bree smirked.
"If I had your super smarts I would've ran away 10 years ago." I rolled my eyes.
"Hey, you know what would be awesome? If you guys took out your Bionic chips and switched your Bionic abilities." Leo smirked. Me and my siblings shared knowing looks.
"Why can't we?" Chase asked.
"I call your super smarts!" I pointed at Chase,
"I call your super speed!" Adam pointed at Bree.
"I call your super strength!" Chase pointed at Adam.
"I call your elements!" Bree pointed at me.
"I call good looks and charisma! Oh, too late already got 'em." Leo smirked and walked away.

"If you guys are gonna switch your chips before school, don't you think you should run this by Davenport first?" Leo asked.
"They're our chips." Bree shrugged.
"Well yeah, but what if something happens and you end up with Adam's head on Chase's doll like body?"
"We don't have to ask "daddy" for permission on every single thing we do." I giggled and sat down on Adam's lap.
"Yeah. I mean do you think I ask Davenport which shoe goes on which foot? No! I label them "left" and "not left."" Adam put his feet on the table making me fall into his chest.
"Right." I told him adjusting my position.
"See Willow gets it."
"No Adam, the opposite of left is right." Adams face turned into confusion.
"Okay, Bree, Willow. Attach the chip extractors to the capsules. I'll program the computer for the chip removal. And Adam, you.... just get in your capsule." Chase instructed typing on the cyber desk.
"Whoo!" Adam cheered.
"Now, Leo, I have the most important job of all for you." Leo walked around to where Chase was.
"Now once we get inside, I'm going to need you to push... this green button." I snorted.
"Yeah, and then I'll push the button that makes you stop talking to me like I'm five." Leo said slowly. After we got in our capsules and the sounds of a machine surrounded me.
"Oh no! My heads coming off!" Adam yelled. My eyes widened and I tried to see.
"Kidding." He laughed.
"Did it work?" Leo asked. I walked over to Adam and slapped his chest.
"That wasn't funny." I glared at him he pulled me in an one arm hug.
"Hey, Adam lets arm wrestle." Chase waved. The boys went up and Chase quickly beat him.
"Are we in a different universe?" I asked, eyes wide.
"I'm next." Leo jumped.
"This is gonna be a piece of cake- ahh," Leo got cut off by his own scream as Adam beat him.
"Hey, hurry up guys. You're gonna be late for school." Davenport said coming in.
"Hey, Davenport. I was thinking it might be fun to switch our chips for like a day. Would that be a good idea?" I asked him.
"You guys didn't switch your chips did you?" He asked.
"Nope." I popped the p.
"Good. See I calibrated their Bionics to match their biology. Adam has height, so I paired him with strength. Bree is lean, so that increased her speed. Chase of course, no one questions Chase's impossible wealth of knowledge cause he's you know, nerdy. And Willow has always loved nature so you know elements."
"Yep." I nodded.
"I gots all kind of stuff up here like numbers and mathy stuff." Chase said I giggled.
"Point is switching there chips could cause all kinds of unpredictable problems, so you should never do it ever. I have spoken!" Davenport walked out.
"Mr. Davenport is making a big deal of nothing," Chase scoffed.
"I know. I mean we already switched our chips and nothing bad happened."
"Well, 5 teenagers plus Bionics, multiplied by irresponsibility equals destruction." I told my siblings running numbers in my head.
"We're fine. Race you to school!" Adam shouted and used super speed to run.... into a wall.
"Point proven!" I yelled.
"Oww." Adam groaned.

"Hey, El." I grinned.
"Hey Willow." She barely smiled.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I'm supposed to do something but the more I learn the less I want to." She said carefully.
"Huh?"
"Never mind." Her phone flashed and the screen read 'Creator'.
"Is that a fancy way of saying mom?" I asked.
"Dad." She shrugged and answered it walking away. I frowned and saw my siblings standing a little ways away. The emergency alarm sounded and I screamed in pain. IT WAS SO LOUD!
"She's not used to my Bionic hearing." I vaguely heard Chase tell Adam. I slowly stood up still covering my ears.
"I'll super speed us out of here. Please keep your  hands and legs inside at all times." Adam said joking his arm in mine. I focused on tuning out the bell.
"Maybe I don't wanna do this!" I heard someone whisper harshly. I was confused but managed go tear my ears away.
"Where's Leo?" I asked noticing him not here.
"Try using my super hearing to detect his voice." Chase told me.
"All I hear besides the bell is some person in a heated conversation." I yelled back.
"Adam, use your heat vision to take out that alarm." Chase told Adam.
"Or you use my heat vision to take out the alarm."  Chase fired the heat vision and it bounced off the bell and hit the elevator controls.
"Bree. The pryokinesis." I yelled. She nodded and fired it putting a gaping hole in the wall. I let out a sigh as the alarm stopped.
"Hey, listen up generation epic fail. It's your fearless lovable leader principle Perry. I am stuck in the elevator. I repeat I am stuck on the elevator. Again: I AM STUCK IN THE ELEVATOR!" Perry yelled through the intercom.
"Serves her right for not taking the stairs." Adam shrugged.
"Hey, I'm in here too! Repeat I am in here too. Again: I AM IN HERE TOO!" Leo yelled after Perry. I face palmed.
"Idiots." I shook my head.
"If any superheroes are listening, I could use some help!" Leo yelled.
"He knows Superheroes!" Adam said excitedly.
"We are the superheroes!" I yelled at my brother.
"I can fix this." Chase said and looked at the cords.
"I just need someone to show me how."
"I want my chip back! I want my chip back!" Chase yelled and lasers something. I clapped sarcastically.

Chase was freaking out and I was on Adam's back.
"I'm calculating a risk probability analysis of the situation. You know measuring the statistical likely hood if Leo's situation in the elevator versus the real calculated risks of a precision rescue attempt. So based on my calculations, the answer to saving Leo is obvious." I yawned into Adam.
"Yikes, I sound like I swallowed a Chase." I shuddered.
"Yep, we can't do it. Sorry, Buddy! Oh! Let's go see a movie!" Adam said happily. I smacked his head.
"No Adam. We just have to rush home and switch our chips back." Bree caught on.
"Leo we have to go home real quick, don't go anywhere!" Chase yelled into the elevator doors.
"Really? Where am I gonna go?!" He yelled back. We all started running home.

I stepped out of my capsule after my chip was replaced in my neck.
"Great. We're back to normal. Grab on and I'll super speed us to school." Bree said and I hopped on her back.
"Why aren't you guys at school?" Davenport.
"And what did I tell you about climbing each other?"
"Not to involve Willow. She breaks easy." Chase chuckled nervously.
"We forgot our homework." Adam said I grabbed a random book for the desk.
"'War and Peace.'" I read the title.
"Now we can read our book for our reading assignment." Chase said.
"Willows not even in your grade."
"Just take us back to school." I sighed setting the book down.
"Uh-huh."

"Do your thing," I gestured for Chase to fix the elevator.
"If I cross the red and pink wire I'll end up with a red wires crossed with a pink wire." I frowned at Chase.
"This is still a bunch of pretty colors to me." Chase sighed.
"Since traction elevators operate on a pulley system, we just have to calculate the weight of the cars plus the passengers, multiply that by the height we need to move it, and that will determine the energy needed. Also, a group of 12 or more cows is called a "Flink."" Adam spoke.
"Oh! I think my brain just threw up!" Adam complained.
"Wait a second. If he has your super smarts does that mean one of you have my speed?" Bree asked. I shrugged and went to start running when I suddenly flew into a wall.
"Ouch," I groaned.
"We must of switched the chips again!" Bree shrieked and helped me up.
"I don't know what to do!" Chase said
"I don't know what to do!" He gasped an water flew out of his hands.
"I know what to do." Adam shrugged
"I know what to do!" He gasped.
"The elevator is stuck between the first and second floor. There are two remains hoist cables left holding it up. Bree if you reach through the vent and grab one of them, you can use your super strength to pull the car up to the second floor." Adam grinned.
"Got it." She nodded. I sat on a bench and rubbed my elbow where a bruise was forming where I hit it. Bree grunted and pulled a black wire down.
"Great. Now pull it another five feet. Come on Bree use your strength." Adam instructed.
"I got it. I got it." She said when the cord snapped.
"I-I had it." She frowned.
"I don't know my own super strength." She cried out.
"Great idea Adam. Now there's.." Chase stopped to count on his fingers.
"One cable holding the elevator." He gasped.
"No. I thought there were 7 holding it up." I rolled my eyes.

Bree once again had a cable.
"Bree, you got this. Just find your center." I offered her a small smile.
"What if this doesn't work?" She asked.
"Bree remember when I liked Ethan's brother Evan?" She nodded.
"I was so worried I wouldn't be enough or pretty enough. You helped me with that. So now imma help you." I told her and walked behind her.
"Use your entire body instead of just one part." I told her. She nodded.
"It also helps to keep a blank mind." Adam said.
"Man I miss that." He added as an after thought.
"Gravity is centered. Mind is blank. Here I go." She looked at Adam and he smiled at her. She started pulling, she used both her legs and arm. A ding went off signaling the floor was reached. I helped Bree tie the cord.
"We did it!" We cheered. The doors opened and Perry hurriedly came out.
"Dooley! What did I tell you about being in an elevator in an emergency!" Perry yelled.
"That if you get stuck cats will eat your mom."
"Gotta go."
"Thank you for saving my life!" Leo yelled giving us all a hug.
"I owe you guys."
"Actually were the ones that got you stuck in there." I said nervously.
"Oh. Well then, you will be hearing for my lawyers." Leo fixed his shirt and walked away.

The four of us walked into the lab.
"Hey guys, how was school? How'd the chip switch go?" Davenport asked walking in.
"How'd you know?" Bree asked.
"Well first of all, Adam is reading a book instead of gnawing on in. And you left the extractors out." Davenport showed us the machine.
"Look, Mr. Davenport, I know your upset. But you were right." Chase said
"Without our chips we're like totally useless. Like normal people." I shuddered.
"Look I'm glad you learned your lesson but I'm very disappointed in you. Now his big of a bill can I expect from the school?" Davenport asked.
"None. We made it all look like an accident." Chase said smugly,
"Yes! Way to go!" Davenport went for a high five with Bree.
"Oww! She has the strength right now, right?" Davenport asked. We all nodded.
