The murmurs in the potions class immediately quieted down barely a few seconds after Professor Snape's entrance. He made his way to the front of the class and greeted his students monotonously.
"Good evening class."
"Good evening sir." The students said in a overly dragged voice.
"Hey Teach." A girl sitting at the front of the class grinned.
Snape sighed irritatedly, "How many times do I have to repeat myself? It's Sir or Professor to you, Miss L/n. Detention, today, 7pm."
The girl just shrugged, "Where?"
"In my classroom, obviously."
"Boring." She said.
He ignored her but mumbled to himself, "I swear I'll get her expelled by the end of the month."
"Oh, expel me? Come on, do it, I dare you." The girl whispered to him so others wouldn't hear.
His eyes widened ever so slightly, but he kept his composure.
"So Teach, are you gonna teach the class or what?" She asked loudly, amused.
Many laughed, but shut up at Snape's ice gaze.
"So, for today's class..."
--
Y/n was just finishing her charms homework when her alarm rang, telling her it was time for detention.
She sighed, "Can he stop giving me detention at most inconvenient times?"
She quickly jabbed down the last few sentences for the homework before standing up and making her way out the bedroom and to the common room.
"Hey, Y/n!" A student called as she was about to exit.
She turned around, "Yeah?"
"Good luck. I heard Snape gives the worst punishments."
"Thanks." She waved before making her way out of the common room and to the potions classroom.
As she was about to knock the door flung open, revealing Professor Dumbledore.
"Good evening sir." She smiled at the old man.
"Oh, good evening Y/n. What are you doing here at this hour?" He asked, one hand still on the door handle.
"Detention." She shrugged nonchalantly.
"Oh. Severus was telling me that you needed to be expelled for disrespecting him and constantly interrupting his class. Is that true?" He closed the door and leaned slightly against the nearby wall.
"Somewhat." She replied vaguely.
"How about we cancel the detention and instead go speak about it in my office?" He offered with a polite smile.
"I'm afraid that wouldn't make Professor Snape very happy." She replied, her voice laced with sarcasm as she pronounced the teacher's name.
"I'm sure he would excuse us."
"Well, if you insist." She shrugged.
"Good. Well then, you can already make your way to my office. I'll be there in a bit. The password is Lemon Sherbet." He smiled.
"Thanks sir. I'll be waiting." She then turned around, making her way to the right floor and to the gargoyle guarding the man's office, telling her the password.
The statue jumped aside, letting her pass. She then mounted the staircase and opened the door to be met with the oh so familiar office. The office of her great-grandfather. She took a seat in her chair and waited for the said man to come in. He did so a couple of minutes later, immediately walking to his chair and plopping himself into it.
"Listen Y/n, this constant troubling needs to stop. Severus is very angry with you as it is; please don't make it worse by continuing to annoy him." Albus told her with a tired sigh, taking off his glasses and massaging the bridge of his nose before removing his hand and placing his glasses back.
"But I want to get expelled."
This information took a while to sink in. When Dumbledore finally processed what she just said, his eyebrows raised so high you could think they'll jump off of his forehead.
"Why would you want that?"
"No offense, but it's boring here. I want to get sent to Durmstrang or something." She shrugged, "Could you do that for me, Albus?"
"I could, but..." He trailed off, getting lost in his thoughts.
"So?"
"Fine." He sighed once again, giving in, "You'll be officially expelled as of tomorrow. You can already pack your bags if you want."
"I packed yesterday." She waved his offer off, "I'll leave tomorrow first place in the morning."
"If you wish so." He said, his voice tinted with a barely noticeable amount of sadness.
"I'll go now." She stood up and made her way to the door.
"Good night."
She opened the door and started to walk out.
"And, Y/n?"
"Yes?" She turned around.
"I'm going to miss you." He smiled sadly.
"Don't worry, you'll still have Aberforth." She grinned.
"We don't get along." The old man shook his head.
"Then make things right between each other. I know you can do it, Albus. You are a great person, and a wonderful great-grandfather at that. I love you." And with those final words and a wink, she let the door close behind her, disappearing out of Dumbledore's sight and into the hallways of the castle.
"You too, my dear Y/n, you too." Albus quietly whispered to himself.
