[Rewrite In Progress] Chapter 17 - An Unexpected Encounter

"No thanks. Your breath smells of garbage! I don't think I would be able to breath if play with you." Veins popped out from his head, while his companion was chuckling in amusement. I held an innocent childish smile on my face which seemed to infuriate the brute more.

"What did you say brat?" He tried to rush toward me but was stopped when the other man put his hand on his shoulder.

"What do you think you're doing? You're going to damage our goods if you rush in and hit her."

'Wow! Such a caring person. Not wanting to 'damage his goods,' I thought sarcastically.

"You have to be gentle when taking care of your products. Otherwise, they become broken and useless," the other guy continued. He started to walk towards me. Even though his face was hidden behind the cloak, his mouth was visible; which showed a smug confident smile. Normally, I would say he's too overconfident, but I suppose he is going up against a little girl. Unfortunately for him, the little girl in this case happens to be me.

As he came closer, I flicked my wrist towards him, which caused the wind mana to form a gust and swiftly remove both of the men's cloaks. The guy in front of used his hands to cover his face from the wind. When he put his arms down, an ugly scar was revealed that stretched from his forehead, down his right eye and ended at his lips.

It seemed as my action of revealing his face had infuriated him. Different emotions were shown on his face, but the most evident one was fear. "Ahh... Just as I thought. You guys aren't mages, are you?" I spoke with a smile on my face. I was the one in control of the situation now and they knew it as well. What could normal people do against someone who can use mana. Absolutely nothing!

However, both of them still decided to rush and attack me. I guess even though I'm a mage, I'm still a child first. They probably thought I wasn't experienced enough to harm them. 'I seriously hope my growth spur will happen soon. I hate being seen as a child' I pondered. 'It will make controlling Arthur a heck of a lot easier! I'm curious to see what he'll do once people try to pursue me' I smirked. 'Will he get jealous or mad... Or maybe both. I love it when he gets possessive.'

Airies suddenly flew from my shoulder and went to attack Raylee at the back. As your mother, I can happily say that I'm proud of you. I wanted to end this quick, so I created a fire tornado big enough that it encompassed the man at the front but also small enough that no one else could see it.

A could hear Airies 'Kaa' and peck at his target, who was screaming in agony from the number of times he'd been pecked. He was flying in the air to Raylee could not reach him, or even hit him for that matter. I would not want to be him, that's for sure. Even if he is a child, he is still a Phoenix. His beak is probably sharper and stronger than most mana beasts, so the amount of pain caused will be greater.

I closed the fire tornado on my target and engulfed him in flames. He stared screaming in agony and after a while, I extinguished the fire. Now he was in no shape or form to even stand up, let alone attack me. I looked around for something to tie them up with, but unfortunately there didn't seem to be anything around.

I sighed and made my way back to the girl, who was looking at the scene with wide eyes. Then I remembered that the 2 men had tied her up with rope, which I could use to tie them up. How ironic. Being trapped by the thing you used to subdue others. I freed the girl and used the rope to tie them up. Then I turned around to face her, but she was still laying on the floor in shock.

"You hurt?" I asked. She took a few seconds but eventually shook her head. "That's good. Can you go find someone who can take them away?" She nodded her head and went to find someone. I took this opportunity to search their bodies for anything useful. It's not like they were going to need it where ever they're going anyway.
