PART III: Chapter 51

Start from the beginning

"Wrong again." As they took their positions by the balcony, the Sparrow Academy spotted seven, unhygienic-looking people as they heard their father correcting them with the terminologies. "This... is the Sparrow Academy."

The old man's words seemed so timed when he suddenly looked up from the Umbrella Academy. Y/N and the rest of the group followed the direction of Sir Reginald's eyes that were gleamed with pride.

It left the Umbrella Academy even more appalled when they saw Ben walking in from the side. "Dad, who the hell are these assholes?" Y/N might not be the only one to notice, but Ben's voice no longer sounded gentle and kind. Compared to that, this Ben's tone was stern and hostile.

"Shit."

Was all the Umbrellas were able to utter out from their mouths. Y/N was also caught off guard by this situation that she didn't get a chance to let out the comeback for the snarl Ben gave to them: Well, who the hell are these posers? She could've responded.

Klaus, on the other hand, was growing excited. "Ben." He grinned, only to receive a disgusted scowl from this said Ben. The look Ben gave only grew more averted when Luther followed with, "Is that really you?"

"And who are the weirdos on the balcony?!" Y/N and Klaus flinched when Diego suddenly yelled out his question. He sounded like an angry old neighbor who gets disrupted by everything. "Christ, man, you don't have to shout." The Unseen retorted under her breath.

"They are the Sparrows." Sir Reginald introduced, "My children."

The Umbrella Academy looked back at the Sparrows with faces that typically says, "oh, no", thinking that they screwed up the timeline, again. Well, shit indeed. As Y/N thought. "I knew there was something different." She muttered as she looked away and folded her hands, "Just didn't know it would be a replacement kind of different."

Number Five didn't really want to conclude with the term replacement. A part of him wished that their father can actually have a sense of humor and he was just celebrating April Fool's day belatedly. "I'm sorry." He interjected, "What do you mean, your children?" He asked rhetorically, "That's not possible, old man."

Reginald scoffed at his statement, "Of course it is! I think I'd know, wouldn't I?" The Sparrows didn't hesitate to walk down the stairs and join in this confounding discussion.

"Everybody else can see Ben, right?" Klaus was still bewildered about Ben. He was there. Right when he had already accepted that he was long gone, Ben was standing right there, in front of him.

Ben once again frown upon Séance, "Cute hat, Sundance."

Y/N chuckled softly at his sarcasm. Putting her hands on her hips, she figuratively commented on Ben's attitude, "Yeah, this is not a great fit on you." She judgementally looked at him up and down, almost making Ben walk up to her and give her his fist on her no-

"They call themselves the Umbrella Academy," Fortunately, Reginald continued to explain things out. "A group of scheming, perfidious malcontents who accosted me in 1963 when I was away on business in Dallas. Be warned," he continued, "they claim to be my spawn."

In the midst of his explanation to his new spawns, the Sparrows, Y/N can't help but drown him out as she was about to let her picky fingertips fall onto her lips.
