It was seven in the morning, the break of dawn in the cold winter months. The snow coated the ground in a thick icy blanket , reflecting the rising sunlight. I smiled lightly as I glanced at the snow coated woods. I was wrapped up in a fluffy, dusty pink coat, a white wollen scarf and some fur lined, black boots. I stood beside Carlos black suv, watching the sun rise over the trees, Poppy was in front of the truck, saying her goodbyes to her mate. Carlos packed the last few bags into the trunk as his father arrived beside him.

"Good Morning" he greeted us. "Are you ready?"

We both nodded and got into the front two seats of the car but not before Blake complained about his son being the driver.

"Carlos you drive like a bloody lunatic , let me drive" Blake protested.

Carlos only grumbled a no at him and got into the car, starting it up, leaving no room for argument. I chuckled. It must be nice being an alpha, having command over even your parents. They often could resist but their wolves would make it difficult.

Poppy was the last to get in, looking glum. She sulked as she sat in the back, behind me.

"It's only for a day Pops. You'll be back with him before you know it" I gave her hand a squeeze.

She smiled, appreciating my comfort but I could tell she just needed to get used to being away from her mate. She'd never been away from him before in the two years they had been together so it was quite difficult for her.

The drive to the coast was long but very beautiful. There wasn't many highways along the secluded route so a lot of it was country lanes and forests. I watched the scenery fly past us as I spoke with Blake. He was really trying to get to know me now. I told him many stories of my life in the forest and made him laugh with a few of them, since they were about how I took alphas and betas he knew for fools.

We eventually pulled into a driveway of a large, modern house. It looked like the type you'd see in movies with big windows all around, a large white porch and a sort of square exterior. I frowned. I was expecting a rickety cottage.

Poppy headed towards the door and I followed her. The guys went to grab the bags from the trunk. Poppy gave me a reassuring smile before she knocked on the door. A beautiful lady, who looked to be in her early thirties, opened the door. She smiled when she saw us. Her long blonde hair bellowed in the soft breeze and her amber eyes lit up when she smiled.

"Welcome," she grinned. She hugged Poppy like a mother would their child and the she truned to me, shaking my hand.

"You must be Evangeline. It nice to finally meet you. My name is Ira, Come on, let's get started."

She lead us through the house and directed us to put our bags in the 3 guest bedrooms she had set up for us. Once we were free of bags she lead us out into her yard. There was a perimeter of trees making the space private and they looked a lot like the gnarly trees I saw in my nightmare. I became uneasy at this. Carlos noticed my change in mood.

"Are you alright, love?" He asked, wrapping an arm loosely around my waist. I only nodded and leaned into him, seeking the comfort he was offering.

"So tell me, dear," Ira pulled my attention towards her. "How did you discover your powers? What was the trigger?"

I explained to her what happened at the mall and the feeling I got when I saw Keegan approach Poppy. She grinned.

"Oh yes, you're a powerful girl, for sure. Once you learn to control these powers, you will be unstoppable" She chuckled. "Speaking of which, try to show me these powers. Imagine the same situation. Imagine the same feeling coursing through your veins and strike me"
