Chapter 16

The whole week went by so fast; Ali trained with England and London Sirens, studied, went to the gym, spent time with her family and most importantly spoke to Kit; factiming every night catching up on how their days have been and generally getting to know each other better. 

They talked about their childhoods as both of them grew up in Croydon they found common similarities between them; they both learnt to ride their bikes in the same park, both went on trips to the same cinema, it's surprising to both of them that they had never met before, but both believed that if they had they may not be in this current situation. 

They talked about their families; how Ali has 2 older brothers and Kit had an older brother and a younger sister, Kit felt a bit intimidated knowing that Ali had two older brothers, worried that they might be very protective of their little sister. 

They talked about school; both opening up about how hard it is being shy and how they both overcame negativity throughout school, Kit talks about how his parents got him into acting in the hopes he would come out of his shell a bit more and how he'd would never have believed he now gets to do it as a job. Ali opened up more about her sexuality and how she came to the realisation she was bisexual by watching Pirates of the Caribbean. 

They talk about music, films, tv shows, books you name it they probably talked about it for hours on end; both of their feelings for each other growing more and more every time they interacted.

It was now Sunday morning and Ali's match for Pulse was only a couple of hours away, she got up and made herself her typical pre match breakfast consisting of eggs, pancakes, and bacon. She knew this wasn't the typical pre match meal of most of her teammates, but it was her tradition which helped settle her nerves. Ali wasn't just nervous about the match that would decide if they made it into the final or not, no she had the nervousness of seeing Kit in person for the first time in a week. Even though they spoke every night Ali couldn't help but worry about seeing Kit again, but this worry was also married with excitement, she couldn't wait for him to watch her play.

'Hey Al, are we meeting you at the arena or do you want us to come over to yours first so we can go with your parents' Will started, the 'we' Will was referring to was himself and Kit. If Ali said yes, she would get to see them both before her match defiantly calming her nerves, but it would also mean that Kit would be coming to her house and would be meeting her parents. A wave of anxiety ran through her but before she could even think she had already blurted out that they should come to hers first.

'Okay, were not far away now be about 15 minutes'

'Okay see you soon' Ali rushed off the phone, she was already in her kit and had finished her hair but she couldn't help but stare at herself in the mirror for a good 5 minutes making sure she looked okay. Ali ran downstairs with about 5 minutes before the boys turned up and prepped her parents on what they could and couldn't say.

'Please don't bring up anything about when I was a baby, don't bring up the fact he was in Rocketman, don't ask if he's my boyfriend' she emphasised the last point as the most important one. Ali's parents just looked at her giggling at her nervousness for them to meet the mysterious boy she had been talking to until late at night.

'We promise went won't say anything hunny don't worry' Ali's dad smiled at her, there was then a loud knock at the door before Will opened it and walked straight in; Ali's parent had known Will long enough now that it was normal for him to just let himself in. Will walked straight towards the kitchen at the back of the house, with Kit trailing behind him it was quite obvious he was nervous.
