Coming Closer

I've been wanting to make so much fanart for a cartoon I just finished and I gotta keep up with drawing my own OCs but I swear on my LIFE I won't forget about this.

Here's the continuation of that cliffhanger tho. Enjoy!!

.....

D-1649 held her mouth shut with both hands, backing herself against a wall. She held her breath. This was not her safe space. She was practically out in the open! Who knew if that man would decide to investigate here or not?

A chair screeched across the floor.

"You don't have to sit down. You've had enough meetings this past week, so I'll make it quick."

It had better be quick, she thought to herself.

"Oh? I thought that you were here for more questioning on the topic of that recent containment breach."

"Nah, we've got all of the information that we need. Plus, none of our remaining video feed has anything about you, so you're scot free."

I still consider it a miracle that they did not catch me or Sixtine. I wonder how she's staying so quiet right now.

"I guess what I'm saying is somewhat related, though. You see, those breaches resulted in a good bit of casualties. It wasn't enough to be historic, but it's enough that we're gonna need time to collect more D-class and transfers. Especially technicians.

"You probably didn't notice this, but your security camera isn't just damaged. It's completely fucked, probably from SCP-106 or something. We can't connect anything to those wires, and even if we cut them, this weird infestation keeps coming back. It might be something completely different, but we have yet to see."

"Ah, so the camera cannot be replaced for quite a while, then?"

"Yeah, I guess you could say that. However, your behavior for the past two months has been very good, so just sending someone in to check on you every day should be fine. Would you be alright with that?"

"That would actually be preferable. I do enjoy seeing my fellow scientists in the flesh, you see."

"Well then, as long as you promise not to pull any tricks, that's what we'll do. I'll try to set a time for each day. What time is it right now... 11:30? How about we send someone down every day around 11:00 or noon? They'll probably stay for an hour, make sure you're still behaving. You already have your meals every morning and evening, so we'll be more than covered."

"As long as it works for the other employees, I will be content. Oh, and are you aware if there is a set schedule for when the meals will be brought? It would be preferable for me to have an accurate plan for my day."

D-1649 finally let a breath out into her hands, still making sure it was as quiet as possible. She had completely forgotten that there was supposed to be a camera in the room, but was thankful that it could be gone forever if the Doctor just kept being polite with the other scientists. How in the world would she do anything with someone constantly watching the room?

The main door made a mechanical whirring sound as it slid open.

"Speaking of food, I'd better go take my lunch break while I have the chance. It was nice talking with you, 049."
