"She's not answering! Luz? LUZ!"
Hunter listened from above in the vines in Emperor's mind, his heart beating in his chest violently. He was waiting for the perfect moment to ambush, to get both him and Luz out of this hellish place-
"But- Why? Why go through all this?" Luz said, glaring at the emperor.
"I'd do anything to save humanity from evil." Emperor Below mused, holding out a cracked golden guard mask that made Hunter's insides twist in his gut.
"No..." Luz shook her head, backing up.
"Luz! We're gonna start the countdown, are you ready?" The walkie Talkie buzzed. Hunter felt his belly drop with apprehension as he tried to gather his nerves to just drop down and save the both of them-
"You're evil!"
Hunter saw Emperor Belos mutter something unintelligible, before suddenly outstretching his hand-
His nerves skyrocketing, Hunter scattered plant and ice glphs at just the right time to stop the deadly sharp weapon that was bolting towards Luz, propelled by a black sludge. The weapon slides through the wall, stopping inches before her face.
"Luz!"
Hunter, who was hanging from a vine, scattered glyphs for her to use as he dropped down, speeding towards the walkie talkie.
"5!
Eda started counting down from the walkie talkie, making escape all the more urgent.
"4!"
Luz slammed her hand onto a fire glph, sending spirals of flames into the plant wall, burning a hole that they kept through with haste.
"3!"
Sprinting past the emperor, a lump formed in Hunter's throat as he made eye contact with Belos, seeing the enraged glint in his glare.
But he also saw something behind it.
"2!"
It was a shadow of some sort with a divided face, and he gasped as it grinned, slithering across the trees towards the walkie talkie as well, seemingly unnoticed by Luz.
Luz leaped to the ground, pulling Hunter roughly along with her.
"1!"
"EDA NOW, PLEASE NOW!"
A ring of fire formed around them, Hunter yelping as he saw the shadow slither in with them, escaping right into Luz from the behind as everything erupted in a golden light-
"Don't crowd them! Are you two okay..?"
Luz looked up with wide eyes, while Hunter's were sad and dull, Flapjack nudging his head to bring him back from his daze.
The shadow was forgotten as the realization hit him like a truck.
"H-He knows! He knows we were in there...!"
