Despite having tears in her eyes, she never fails to make my heart amaze and flutter. Her green eyes are now filled with sadness and pain that I can't even look at it.

It was the same emotion in her eyes when I first saw her at the convenience store.

"I c-can't. Baby, p-please, let's talk muna," Nagmamakaawa nitong saad at hinawakan ang aking dalawang kamay.

Napahinga ako ng malalim, "I don't want to say things that may hurt us both, Miss. Please, just leave me alone for now."

Umiling siya, "You don't call me Miss, baby. I-It's Faby o..or Aspen, come on. It's hurting me."

Pabagsak kong binitawan ang hawak nito sa akin at napa hilamos ng mukha dahil sa sinabi niya.

"Aspen, p-please..."

"I don't want to go home with us, not being okay with each other-"

I scoffed in disbelief, "Of course, we're not gonna be okay 'til the day ends! Do you even expect me to talk to you after that?!" Tukoy ko sa in-announce kanina lamang ng tatay niya.

Napalunok ito, "That's why I want to talk to you. I am not even aware that I'm engaged-"

"Bullshit!"

"I'm not talking bullshit here, Adira!" Nanlalaki ang mata na sigaw nito kaya napatitig na lamang ako sa kanya ng hindi makapaniwala bago mapailing.

I shake my head hanggang sa mapangiti na lang ng mapait sa kaniya, "You know I hate liars, Fabrizia."

Impossible na wala siyang katiting na alam tungkol sa engagement na 'to because for Pete's sake, her father can't announce something she don't even know!

Dahil sa aking sinabi ay napapikit na lamang siya bago mapahagod ng buhok, naiiyak na rin sa nangyayari. Napakagat labi ito at sinubukan na hawakan ang aking kamay pero nilayo ko iyon na dahilan ng pag agos lalo ng luha nito.

"W-Well, I'm aware of this but I'm trying my best to stop his plans because I'm already devoted to you- No, no! Listen to me first!" Habol nito sa akin ng akmang aalis na ako sa pwesto ko nang marinig ang kanyang sinabi at pinaharap sa ako sa kaniya ng hawak ang dalawa kong braso.

"I don't love him, Adira! I swear! I-"

"Do you think that will change the fact that you're engaged with him?" Natahimik ito sa aking sinabi at nakatingin lang sa akin ng may pighati sa mata.

May tumulo na isang butil ng luha sa mukha nito bago ito yumuko para punasan 'yon.

I have never seen her cry like this before and it's making my heart hurt.

But, mas masakit ang nararamdaman ko ngayon. I thought no one's going to disturbed what's going on between us and then boom! There's that guy!

Parang last week lang ay okay pa kami. She even took care of me during my parents funeral, she was there when I was crying, holding me like I'm fragile. We even made love during our vacation in Batangas and now this happened?

"How long are you engaged?" Malamig kong tanong na dahilan ng pag-angat ng tingin nito sa akin.

She is looking at me with terrified and pain in her eyes na lalong nagpaluha sa akin. Yumukong muli ito bago umiling at lumapit para hawakan ang aking kamay pero iniwas ko lamang ito.

"I just wanted to explain to you, Adi-"

"Then, tell me how long you are engaged, Fabrizia!"

Malakas na akong napahikbi at iniwas ang tingin sa kaniya. I hate to show my weak side lalo na sa kaniya dahil all I wanted for her to see is that kaya ko, that I'm strong.
