TW: SH

you laugh as you tell me

instruct me as if I am uneducated

a new member

as if you would know.

i may panic at the sight of blood,

cringe at you playing with pins

get upset at talk about dismantling sharpeners.

but i'm hiding a secret from you all

i'm a fabulous liar

i put on a smile and mask everyday

i'm amazing at drama club

you just haven't seen me yet.

for i've been a part of the club for years

dismantled sharpeners,

cut up plastic packaging,

stolen blades.

so why can you not see?

why can i not tell you?

i'm trying to make you see me

i "accidentally" let comment slip,

flash my scarred skin.

that's how you join drama club without an interview,

right?

i want you to know

but my mouth doesn't work when explaining my acting.

i've felt the ribbing

tearing

unzipping feeling

as it runs across my skin,

avoiding the blue lines like the plague.

i sometimes wish i just told you

told you the truth,

announced myself your leader.

because you were right

there's not a razor in my pocket,

there's a pack of five.
