Was I confused about this one? Yeah. But I'm confused about everything, so what makes this any different. Well, I've never listened to a Conan Gray (grey?) song, have no idea who is is, but the host said that was A-ok, and so I decided to enter.
Now, the guidelines were simple. Make a cover with my BFF Conan, based upon his song 'Checkmate'. It also had to be peaceful. So I went 'ok', this will be simple enough. I listened to the song. It was not peaceful.
He started talking about setting his girlfriend's lawn on fire. That line really caught my attention, so the first version of this cover was him with a lighter, and a lawn on fire behind him. But that gave more 'Psychopath' than 'peaceful' emotions, so I tried again.
This time, I really brought out my *creativity* and decided to go CHESS BOARD! Because Checkmate. Chess. :D

But I will be officially entering the first one because goodness knows that's much more peaceful than whatever the heck this is.
I have a big explanation for this cover. Ok. So.
There's a line in the song where he says "I'm not your pawn" or something like that. Hence the Pawn at his feet, fallen over. You'll also notice the Queen piece fallen over. That's the girlfriend against him in a game of chess. Now, the Pawn and the Queen are on the same team, 'white', but since he is not her pawn anymore, he is not on the white team, but has darkened his intentions and become a black chess piece instead.
Hence the King piece still upright next to him and his black shirt and crow. In addition, one can see that the queen piece thought she could checkmate him, seeing how close she was, but the Black King probably protected him.
The girlfriend thought she could checkmate him, but he hit back!
Aaaaand, the tiny room. To symbolize how alone you feel when you've been betrayed.
