YOU Set Sail

The ship that was set to take your family to Whole Cake Island was magnificent. Grand and royal. This would be your favorite part of this ordeal. You could, for a minute, pretend you were sailing away from this life for good and never coming back. Off to an adventure. You race onto the ship, despite the queen's protests. You lean over the ship's rail and pull your veil off over your head. You want to feel the ocean breeze on your face.

Reality kicks in when your step-brother grabs your waist from behind in an indecent manner. You whirl around to elbow him in the face, not caring what punishment you'll get for doing it, but he dodges and flips you around instead. He holds your arm uncomfortably behind your back, making you gasp. You watch in horror as your brother contemplates your open mouth like it was an invitation. You snap your mouth shut and suck in your lips. To your dismay, your brother smirks, "saving it for your husband I see. That's a shame," then he leans in and whispers in your ear, "I thought you'd want to practice."

Your eyes grow wide in rage. You step on his foot with the heel on your shoe. Who cares how uncomfortable these stupid pointy heels are when the results that they give are so darn satisfying. At the yelp of her child, the queen comes running, of course. You saw this coming. "What are you doing!" She yells, shielding her eyes from your face dramatically. "Put that veil down this instant! Honestly!" You turn back towards the ocean to get one last unclouded view. Then you pull the veil over your face. You feel sorry for the women who will cross paths with your brother in the future. He was charming and handsome. Any pretty girl would fall for that charm, only to wake to a nightmare when his true nature was revealed.

Apparently Big Mom is much more picky over the girls she weds to her sons.. then sons wed to her daughters. Your picture wasn't good enough, regardless of how immaculate you looked in it. She wanted to see you in person before she'd consider you for one of her sons. You didn't even know which son it would be. As soon as the invitation came, you raced to the library to read up on The Big Mom Pirates. You knew all The Sweet Commanders and some aspects of their abilities. A lot was left to the imagination. There wasn't much to be found in the library on pirates in general. But you did find a collection of newspapers. You know they don't always tell the truth but you pieced much of the real information together. You were also familiar with a few main Sweet Officers.

None of them stood out as anyone you'd be okay with marrying. You sigh as the ship takes to sea. You run to another spot on the ship with less people so you can remove your veil again and feel the salty spray of the ocean breeze on your face. Your dress picks up a bit in the wind and you smooth it back down against your thighs, when you look up, your step-brother's there.

You make a face at him, silently saying 'leave.' But he doesn't get the message. "I'll be king someday you know," he tells you. You walk up to him, unafraid, "then I feel sorry for your people." He pretends to be physically wounded by your remark, "Oh that hurts! What I mean to say is you should be nice to me." You raise your eyebrow at him. He chuckles, "that's right. If you play nice with me, I might just save you from this unwanted marriage. I might even make you my own." You look at him in disgust, "I'd rather take my chances with the pirates." Your brother looks as though he's smelled something horrid, "you ungrateful bitch!" He spat. Then he backs you against the ship and puts a hand on your throat. "Remember that when you're laying on your stomach getting raped in the ass by this mountain, that I was the one who tried to save you." He hands you a wanted poster of Sweet Commander Katakuri. Over a billion berries for his head.

You hold the wanted poster up and study it. How could you possibly judge someone based on a few news articles, a bounty sum and a blurry wanted poster. You knew what it was like to be judged unfairly. On the other hand.. the things he must have done to warrant a bounty this big... your face pales. You knew for a fact that The Big Mom Pirates kill innocent people. When you look up from the poster, your brother's gone. You're left alone with your thoughts again. Your dad was a pirate after all. And he loved you. He said so himself. Not all pirates were bad. Something about the sea air changed you, you felt hopeful. This could be a great adventure yet. You'd never have to see your brother ever again. You held out hope that no one on Whole Cake Island was worse than him.
