"This one wasn't it either." you said with a sigh. "Don't be sad, Rei. We will find one. There is still a café I want to show you." grabbing your wrist, Mina dragged you once again to another Café that you could try your luck at. "Look, here it is." This one actually impressed you the most.
It was a small, cute Café with not too much people in it. It was pink themed. There were pink tables, chairs and even a wall full of pink cat sculptures that were moving their paws as a sign to say hello. As soon as you entered, there was a ding signalling that customers have entered to make an order. "Hello, welcome to our Café, may I know your order?" the girl was smiling at us while waiting for us to speak.
"Yah Lisa don't you recognize me?" asked Mina looking offended at her. "Oh Mina! Sorry, I was actually in thoughts that I didn't recognize you." stated the girl named Lisa. "C'mon, we saw each other last week." said Mina even more offended. "Yeah, yeah I know, I'm sorry! I will make it up to you." Lisa laughed at her and turned her attention on you. "Hi, I'm Lisa and you are?"
"Nice to meet you, I'm Rei. I'm searching for a part-time job and am actually here to ask if you need a waiter that could help out?" you asked with a smile. "Actually yes! We do need a new waiter since someone quit last week. You came at the right time." you were so relieved as soon as she told you that there was actually a chance for you to get it. "I just need to talk to my boss first, but he's really chill, so you definitely got it."
"See? I told you that we would find you a part-time job." said Mina with a big smile. You returned it and asked Lisa about a few more information about the job and everything. You two exchanged numbers so that she could inform you about the starting. "Thank you again so much for giving me this opportunity."
"No problem. I got you." said Lisa, giggling as she waved goodbye at the both of you. You and Mina went out of the café and started walking back to the campus. "I'm happy that you got it after walking and searching for hours."
"Thank you truly. I think without you, I would be lost." you said, smiling while scratching your head. She hit you playfully on the arm and said: "That's what friends are there for, right?" you nodded your head happily. She considered me already as a friend? You asked yourself as you continued walking with her.
"Omo, I have an idea!" said Mina suddenly with a louder voice that startled you. "Tell me." you looked at her exciting state and waited for her to continue. "Can we go grab some instant ramen and maybe watch after that an anime?" You stopped midway in shock. "You watch anime?" you asked.
"Yeah why? You too?" asked Mina this time waiting for your response. "Yes, and I absolutely love it! I'm up for it." you confirmed, happy. "Well then let's go." after that you went to buy some ramen at a store and grabbed besides some snacks.

"It's so cool that he holds so much power but only uses it if it's urgent." you said while looking at the screen. "Yeah right? It was definitely the right choice to start Saiki K." said Mina while passing a quick glance at the time. "Oh, it's already 10pm. When does class start for you tomorrow?"
"Um, I think at 9am. My first lesson is graphic design." you said, nodding your head after remembering your schedule. "My first lesson is graphic design too! We can go tomorrow together." said Mina. "Yeah, that would be great!" you smiled while looking at her. Changing the topic, you looked at the ceiling.
"My mom is actually from Japan. I used to live there until I got 5 years old, and my dad is from Queens, so it got hard for him to work home office in Japan, that's why we moved here. Up until now, I spent all my years living in New York. It's a beautiful city, so I can't complain, but it's been long since I was in Japan." you said out of a sudden.
"Woah my parents are from here, so I don't know how it's like to be not in my hometown, but I do have relatives that don't live here. I miss them, they give me the feeling of being at home. Home doesn't always need to be a place, it can also be where love resides, where memories are created, where friends always belong or where laughter never ends." said Mina also looking up.
Now, feeling the warm sensation fill you, you think about her words. Home doesn't always need to be a place. You have a place you can always return to when you want to be alone or just by yourself, so kinda, hearing her words now made you think a lot about what you used to believe. Her words triggered something in your mind and that made you think a lot.
"Yeah, home doesn't always need to be a place." you repeated and closed your eyes. "Who makes you feel like being at home?" you asked her now being curious. She sat up and thought about your question. "I do have someone in mind that makes me feel being at home. It's my cousin. We grew up together, laughed together and shared many memories together until she moved to New Zealand. I was really sad because I didn't know where to go from there, but my parents supported me with everything. I got to see her more often, and so we stayed in contact." she stated.
You nodded your head at her response. "What about you? Where is your home, Rei?" she asked, looking now with curious eyes at you. Still not being sure about that question, you looked at your hands. "I guess I still need to find out, but my family was always at first place. Especially my brother Daniel. We grew up together and were always together. We have our backs no matter what happens. I was sad when we had to split because of college, but that's no problem because we promised that we still are gonna FaceTime every day." you smiled, being satisfied with your response.
"I'm glad that you still want to find out. I mean, you are only 21 years old, you still have your whole life to think." said Mina with a laugh. You laughed at her comment and agreed. "Yeah you're right. I needed this conversation. Thank you."
"No. I also need to thank you. I mean we just got to know each other and I already feel really happy and comfortable around you." said Mina now reaching in for a hug. You gladly accepted and hugged her back. "I can only say it back." you said, giggling. "I guess it's time to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long day." she backed off, smiling. "Yeah, I think so too."
You stood up and made yourself ready to go to sleep. "Goodnight Mina."
"Goodnight Rei."
