Placing my palm on the tree and feeling the tingling sensation under my fingers became a habit. The sky was a mixture of pink and green, and the flowers were all kinds of colors. They seemed to become prettier each time I came here.
My absolute favorite flower was the dahlia. All dahlias were beautiful in their own way. They had the most perfect symmetry, and the feature of them was that they came in a rainbow of color options. That's why my field was full of them. It was funny how one single flower can make people happier. I mean, when I watched them, I felt in peace.
My mother used to tell me: "Where flowers bloom, so does hope." I always believed in her words. When I felt down and didn't know who exactly I was or what made me me, I always came here because I knew when I start to create my own world I might understand myself better someday. I could say it helped me a lot, but I still had a long way to go.
If I had told someone that I had my own world I could enter all the time, they would have thought that I was crazy. That was also a reason why I couldn't open up so fast. It was just weird that your imaginary world could make you feel more at home than your real "home". At the beginning, I thought all this was normal. I mean just a simple dream right? But it became so much more.
Up to 6 years, I never dreamed anything. When I fell asleep, all I saw was black, that's why I started expressing my feelings and imaginations through drawing. I must say it helped me a lot because my love for art increased through the years up to now. At the beginning, I used to draw simple trees and butterflies. But today I questioned each thing I wanted to draw.
Why did I feel like that? What made me want to express the imagine I suddenly had while watching the sky? Or the lake? Or the simple butterfly that decided to trust me and take place on my hand? I think it was just the beautiful memory I couldn't seem to forget. Sometimes it was good to not question everything, but just one simple thought could also help you grow.
That's why I feared to lose the feeling and the beautiful sight I had while admiring something. One thing I also loved here was that I could take walks without being scared that something unusual might happen.
I stood up and walked towards the path that leaded to the lake. The twitching of the birds always accompanied me, and the warm breeze let the trees move in their own sync. With each step I took, my sight for the lake got clearer. Just as I thought, the water reflected the rays of the sun that was shining a lot today. Closing my eyes helped me always to concentrate my breathing. Breathe in and out.
Feeling a sudden shiver go through my spine, I crossed my arms. Just breathe in and out.
"Open your eyes."
Immediately, being startled by the sudden voice, I opened them. A person standing at the corner of my eyes made me blink multiply times. That couldn't be right? My eyes were only playing with me...
Everything seemed blurry and I couldn't seem to see clearly. There's definitely a person, but who? I was trying to get closer, but my feet won't move. My words were stuck. Not one word coming out.
"It's time for you to wake up, Rei."
No I couldn't. The imagine of the person was slowly disappearing. Once again rubbing my eyes but nothing. The person was gone.
