Chapter 18: House of Cards

We can't do this anymore...

My whole world fell apart.

It crumbled down to pieces

Beginning with my heart.

Just like a house of cards

With no beams nor foundations,

It never stood a chance against

The earth's mighty vibrations.

With a single flick,

With a single puff,

The slightest touch

Was just enough

To break it down

Right from the core.

Yes, it once survived,

But not anymore.

My world was left in shambles,

A house of disarray,

Nothing left but broken fragments

Of ardent nights and days.

We built ourselves

A house of cards,

A bed of lies

And jagged shards.

We dragged ourselves

Into that home

To shatter hearts

And break our bones.

And yes it did.

It broke me down.

It turned my smile

Into a frown.

I fell apart

With that same house,

Torn to shreds

Like an old tattered blouse.

Fun Fact: I have absolutely NO IDEA how to play card games (As in the classic deck of cards; FYI, I know how to play Uno and other similar games), nor do I know how to shuffle *insert crying emoji*.

Despite that, I used to build houses out of cards as a kid. I couldn't play cards with the others, so instead of boring myself to death, I simply decided to make such fragile structures to challenge myself a bit. It's fun, challenging, frustrating, and entertaining at the same time! Why not try it if you still haven't, dear lovelies?

Have a super duper awesome day!
