Sam lays on the grass, eyes still, all light and little joy they held is gone. The sun hits his hair and skin, Gabriel would be smiling about how beautiful his Sam looks of it weren't for what just happened.
Why is it sunny? Why are the bees buzzing? Why are birds chirping? It shouldn't be like this. When things like this happen it should be pouring rain, bitter cold, and miserable! Not so beautiful and lively!
Gabriel looks down at the youngest Winchester and instantly collapses in tears. "S-Sammy?" Gabriel reaches out to hold Sam's hand and as soon as his fingers touch Sam's skin Gabriel knows. His worst fears have been realized. Sam Winchester is gone.
"I'm sorry." Gabriel chokes out, squeezing Sam's hand, "I-I'm sorry I was so cruel to you." Gabriel gets a small bitter smile on his face when he remembers Sam's reaction to everything, but it soon fades, "I'm sorry I turned you into a car. I'm sorry I forced you to watch your brother die...a lot." Gabriel lays in the grass next to the Winchester, "I'm sorry I never told you I love you."
