The Wait

Chapter 9

We got to the school and parked on the next street over because the parking lot was full!

As we unbuckeled our seats belts I asked," Is it always this crowded at games?"

"Yeh,it is. Crazy right?" Marrisa asked.

"Totally," I said.

We walked up the block and then got to the school. We went right to the back because thats were the field is.

There was a huge amount of people,I couldn't even believe it!

"Woah!" We both said softly.

I looked over to the field and saw all of the players warming up. I scanned over the crowd of boys to see if I could find Luke.

And then I found him talking to one of the other guys.

I smiled to myself of happiness to know that he is here.

Marrisa most have saw me smile because she said," Let me guess,you saw Luke?"

I nodded my head with a smirk on my lips.

"Come on," she said pushing me over to the bleachers.

As we tryed finding a seat I looked over to the side of the field to see the cheerleaders.Then I spotted Maria and waved hoping I would catch her eye.

She saw me in the corner of her eye and waved back.

I was so excited to see her cheer because she always talks about how much she loves it.

Me and Marrisa finally found an empty seat to sit down.

Immeditaly as we sat down the game began.

It was so fun! We cheered every time there was a touchdown. We booed when the other time got a point and things like that.

Then it was halftime,so I decied to go down and congratulate Maria on how good she was doing. She really was doing a good job.

"Hey Marrisa,Im going to go down and talk to my friend Maria real quick. Shes one of the cheerleaders," I told her.

"Ok cool, I'll just be up here waiting," Marrisa said.

I walked down and ran up behind Maria.

Her back was facing me so I decied to scare her.

I motion to her friends to be quiet and I ran up and shook Maria's shoulders while saying boo.

"Ahhh," Maria screamed while jumping.

Everyone laughed.

"That was not funny," Marisa declared.

"Oh come on! That reaction was priceless," I said.

"Whatever," She muttered.

We all let out another laugh.

"Maria, your doing a really good job," I told her.

"Thanks," She said blushing.

"Your still spen-" Maria suddenly stopped talking and looked behind me.

"What is it?" I asked.

She pointed her finger towards behind me.

I turned around and it was Luke.

"Hey Maggie," He yelled.

"Oh,hey," I said confused.

"Thanks for coming to the game," He pronouced.

"Yeh,sure,no problem," I muttered.

"Well,listen," Luke said," After the game, me meet me behind the bleachers. I need to ask you something."

Immediatly thousands of thoughts ran through my head. Some good,some bad, but mostly good.

Maybe finally he wants a relationship with me. Who knows?

"U-um..... S-sure," I hesitated.

"Ok,cool," He smiled, "See ya later."

"Bye," I said.

He jogged away.

I turned around to see Maria smirking at me.

"Oh my goodness Maggie, do you see what just happened?" She screamed.

"Uh huh, " I said in a daze.

I couldn't think right now.

"He might ask you on a date or something," Maria said

"Uh huh," I said again still in a daze.

"Are you okay?" Maria asked.

"Uh huh," I said another time," I gotta go."

I quickly turned around and started walking back to my seat.

I sat down and Marrisa started talking.

"Um girl,What just happened down there?" She asked.

I quietly spoke and said," Luke just said he needs to ask me something."

Hey guys!!!!!! What do you think of this chapter!?!?? What is Luke going to ask Maggie? I know,but you guys are going to have to wait and find out.
