THIS STORY IS NOW FREE! When a newlywed princess discovers her Prince Charming is married to six other royals, she brings the outraged spouses together to plot revenge. But will their story have a fairy tale ending?
...
I've always loved fairy tales. After I finished writing My Crazy Hot Interstellar Affair, I decided my next story would be a take off on a fairy tale. I was in L.A., hanging out in the pool with my favorite mermaid pal, TiffanyDaune, and she told me about a book title she thought of. Prince Charming Must Die. She said it somehow seemed more like something I would write than she would, so she bequeathed the title to me.
As is the case with an excellent book title, it really gets the creative juices flowing!
But, I had a friend, Danielle Paige, who wrote a story titled Dorothy Must Die. So I thought, maybe I should try a different title. These are some I considered ...
Possible Titles:
Prince Charming Must Die
Who's Been Sleeping in my Bed
Prince Charming Must Croak
But in the end, I asked Danielle's permission to use Prince Charming Must Die, and she said yes!

Theme
The next thing I wanted to do was decide what the themes of my story would be. A good story is about something. At least for me, it should say something important, even if it's hilarious and fun. So for themes, I go to what I care about. Female empowerment, environment, honesty, like that.
The title Prince Charming Must Die begs for a story about female empowerment. So that's what I went with.

Save the Cat:
The next thing I do is complete a Save the Cat Template. If you haven't read Save the Cat, I highly recommend it. I know writers are pantsers and others are plotters, but Save the Cat is somewhere in between. It's a way of plotting out a novel that is quite flexible with how the story is told, but up front you have the basic tentpoles of a story. It might change. It will probably change! But this is a way of knowing that you have enough story to sustain a novel.
