A man can see without his eyes, but he cannot see without his heart.
Hua Manlou learned this truth after his sense of sight was taken away from him at a young age. But he's for...

Despite all of his exhaustion, Lu Xiaofeng couldn't sleep that night. He fidgeted, his fingers twitching every now and then as he stifled yawns, waiting for Hua Manlou to wake up beside him. The sect leaders and Hua Ruling had instructed Lu Xiaofeng to incapacitate Hua Manlou using a small canister of medication while leaving behind clues that hinted towards a Hua family servant.
Perhaps an hour or so before sunrise, he felt Hua Manlou shift beside him, before feeling him completely sit up on the bed. "Lu Xiaofeng, Lu Xiaofeng!" he slurred out, still half asleep as his hands searched beside him.
"Ugh... Where are we?" he asked, slurring his words slightly as well, breaking them with a yawn and standing up off the bed.
Hua Manlou's hands felt along the wall, and along the bed frame. "This is my childhood bedroom," he quickly realized before swinging himself hurriedly off the bed and heading towards a sweet and savory scent in the center of the room.
"Hey, there's a bunch of food here," Lu Xiaofeng pointed out. "And there's a tub of clean drinking water, too."
Upon realizing the strange nature of their surroundings, Hua Manlou rushed to the windows, only to find them boarded up from the outside. Next, he moved to the main doors and managed to pry them open, but a cold rush of disappointment hit him as he reached outside—there was no cool night air. His hands met only the hard, unforgiving surface of a heavy metal sheet.
He stepped back, his muscles coiling as he prepared to smash through the obstruction, but before he could act, Lu Xiaofeng's hand grabbed his wrist, stopping him.
"It's no use," he said, letting him go as Hua Manlou nodded in defeated agreement. "They've already trapped us from that direction."
"Why? Who did this?"
Lu Xiaofeng kept quiet, as if in thought. "My father may be in trouble," Hua Manlou turned around the room, searching for a way out. "We can't stay here any longer."
"I know, I know," he muttered, walking around the room for a moment before pausing. "Don't worry; I think I've got a way out."
From his pocket, Lu Xiaofeng removed a single small gray sphere, lifting it towards Hua Manlou's nose -- enough for him to sense what it was. "It's Jiangnan's Thunderbolt Pill."
"No, it's my personal Fire Cloud Thunderbolt," he corrected, a slight frustration at his friend's forgetfulness of his incredible invention. "Never mind that; it's a good thing that they didn't strip-search us at all. Hopefully, they didn't put iron plates on the roof, too."
He tossed it upwards while stepping back as the debris fell in front of him, a few paces from where he had otherwise been. Smoke filled the room for a moment, before the two leaped up from the ground, flying through the large hole created by the explosion with ease. Immediately, they mounted their horses, racing towards the main area of the Hua family grounds.
