Chapter 16: It's the Po-Po

This chapter is told by the POV of Steven

I wake up and throw up on the concrete sidewalk. What they hell happened last night? I stand up and look around. All my friends are passed out in the street and on the grass

"Oh thank god" Beth says from behind me. I turn to see her sitting next to Devin with puffy red eyes

"Are you ok?" I ask her

"He won't wake up. None of them will" she says looking around. I walk over to her and kneel next to Devin

"Let me try" I say and put my hands on his head. I push both into his temple pretty hard and jerk upward

"Owww!! Mother fucker!!" Devin yells sitting up really fast rubbing his head. He looks around at everybody then back to me "what happened?"

"Everybody got beaten by that weird robe guy" Beth says hugging Devin tightly "Well.. Everybody but Antonio and me. He told me to hide then when Kelly got hit he went insane and... I think he killed him. When he finally calmed down he passed out on the ground over there" she points over to Antonio's unconscious body. I stand up and start walking over to him

"Yeeaahh, no. Why don't you let me do this one?" He says then stands up and walks over to him. He bends down and puts a finger to Antonio's forehead and sends a little electricity through it shocking him slightly. He jerks up and starts rubbing his forehead

"Oww! That hurts!" He says looking at Devin

"Trust me, it's better than Steven's way" he says then gives out a small laugh. His smile turns from a smile to a frown as soon as he turns back towards me "Shit.." he mumbles and I turn around to see a patrol car pull up and stop in the street right in front if Mike, laying there with a knife in his arm. The police man steps out of the car and looks around

"Holy hell. The caller said a few teens passed out in their lawn not a bunch of bloodied up kids with knifes and shit. I'm gonna need backup. None of you move!" He says pointing at us then goes back to his car and grabs the radio talkie. Devin squints at the car and it turns off completely. The cop hits the radio a few times then turns back to us

"What's wrong officer?" Devin says smirking

"Nothing is wrong you little shit. But I'm going to need to put handcuffs on you and your friends now" he says taking a step towards us

"Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen" Devin says and walks towards the officer "we aren't going anywhere with you" the officer pulls out his tazer and points it at Devin's chest

"If you don't get on the ground now I will taze you so fast!" He says shaking a little bit. Antonio lifts his arm up and opens his hand causing the dirt that the cop is standing on to open up and swallow the officer's foot causing him to fall to the ground. Devin swiftly kicks him in the side of the head knocking him out

"I'll be right back!" He says and takes off down the street towards the burned down house

"What the fuck was that?!" I ask Antonio as he drags the officer to the police car and tosses him in the back

"Oh ya, I learned how to do that last night" he says then walks over to Mike "we should probably start waking these guys up" I teach him the little temple trick then we wake everybody up. About that time, Devin comes back with a huge moving truck and gets everybody inside the back. He makes me sit up front with him so we can talk

"Ok Steven, so as you already know, me and Milton have powers and Antonio's are developing nicely. And I knew about Milton and Antonio sorta before they did because of this" He says pulling a piece of paper out of his pocket. He lets go of the wheel to do so

"Dude pay attention!" I yell grabbing the wheel. He hits my hand away and glares at me

"I'm not an idiot, this thing works on electricity so all I have to do is tell it that I turned the wheel and the car turns, the wheel doesn't even need to be turned. Same with the gas. Only reason I'm in this seat is cause I like it" says then hands me back the piece of paper. I open it and read it

"All it is is your names? And who's Jessica?" I ask kinda knowing what this paper is

"I have no clue but I need to find her and I need to get the others part of this list. That's one of the reasons we are going to the lab. The second is to find out the truth about these powers and get those weird hybrid creatures to leave us alone. But the biggest reason we are going there is to get my brother and sister back" he says in a low sad voice. I didn't know they had his siblings

"Dude. I'm so sorry. But I promise we will get them back" I say trying to cheer him up. He lowers his head and his eyes get dark

"I'm going to kill every last one of those hybrid fucks. I swear it." He says then looks back up "I'm hungry" he says all of a sudden in his cheerful voice. Glad to see he's ok at least. We sit in silence for a while and I start to doze off until Devin slams on the brakes and I always go flying through the window. I look up and see a barricade of 6 police cars with about 13 cops total pointing their guns at us

"STOP THE TRUCK OR WE'LL SHOOT!!!!"
