ᴡᴏʀᴅ ᴄᴏᴜɴᴛ | 𝟹𝟿𝟽𝟻
As the sun barely peeked over the horizon line, the airship carrying the hunter examinees approached its destination. The third phase of the exam was about to begin... and Y/N was dead.
"Hey! Wake up!" Leorio yelled, smacking the demon. His head only jerked to the side before popping back into its place.
Kurapika carefully rubbed his jawline as he inspected the still male. "It must be rigor mortis. He had to have been dead for awhile now." He spoke, considering the possible outcomes. Killua and Gon stared at the still male, "there's a cat outside!" Gon gasped. With that, the demon popped up and looked around, wheezing. Leorio yelped and fell back as the boy scrambled out of the room.
"Rigor mortis." Killua smiled, shoving his hands in his pockets and following after the scrambling boy.
Kurapika sighed and glanced at Leorio before peeking out the room. "Y/N, there is no - " "I sincerely apologize for the long wait." A voice spoke, the demon pausing and looking around. It was Beans... but where was he? He hummed and looked at his shoe before turning around and furrowing his eyebrows. "The airship will be arriving at its destination shortly." His e/c orbs landed on a speaker, blinking once before turning back towards Gon — who was peeking out of the room — Killua, and Kurapika. He reached his hands out and squeezed his fingers into fists.
"There is no cat." Kurapika spoke, shaking his head.
Gon laughed and placed his hands on his hips. "It woke you up, didn't it?" He asked, staring at the demon who stood down the hall. Gon closed his eyes for one moment... and when he opened them, Y/N was sprinting at him. He had a vein popping out of his forehead with his pupils snapping into slits. Gon continued to cackle as he began to run for his life.
Y/N was draped over on Leorio's back, his eyes barely open. "Everyone, this is the site of the hunter exam's third phase. You'll be competing here at the top of Trick Tower." Beans spoke, stretching his arms out. Carefully raising his head, his cheek propping up against Leorio's as his fingers twitched. "Did you say Trick Tower?"
The hell is Trick Tower?
"In order to pass this phase, you must reach the base of the tower alive. The time limits is seventy two hours... and with that, the exam's third phase will now begin. Good luck to each and everyone of you!" Beans cheered, beginning to head back to the airship.
