Hailey POV

I look around; there are a lot of dead bodies lying on the ground. I should feel wrong about that, but I don't. They wanted to kill me, so there wasn't another choice. I can hear more gunshots behind the house and an explosion. I hope my family is safe, we are all scattered around the house, and I lost my earpiece an hour ago. I don't know how they are doing. I check my watch; Amir should arrive soon.

I felt a piercing pain in my arm and fell on my back; someone shot me, and I didn't notice. So instead, I lifted my head and pressed my left arm with my right hand. I moved quickly and took cover; I didn't know who took the shot and where. I waited a moment and looked around. I didn't see anyone, so I thought it must have been a sniper.

"Fuck, how did they get a sniper?" I decided to run to the house, a few meters away. I ran fast and was through the door, but another bullet shot at me, which hit my left leg. I let out a short scream, and then I gritted my teeth. I moved fast to the emergency bag and used something to close the wound in my leg. My hands were shaking badly. When I looked at my arm, it was bleeding a lot. I tried to put something there too, but it was too tricky, so I just poured some wound-closing powder on it.

I moved to the armory; I had to change my gun and check the cameras to find the sniper. I looked through the cameras and found him on the tree line. I moved upstairs where I could have a better chance to take him out. I also took a new earpiece, "update." "Oh my god, Hails. Why didn't you say anything before? We were so worried," Nick said. "Sorry, I lost a piece. Update." "South is clear," he answered. "East is under fire, and so is north. How is your side?" "Almost clear, I have a little problem, what I will take care of in the next minutes."

"Insurys?" "Some, you?" "None; how extensive?" "Hmm, two bullet holes, but I got the blood to stop." "Jesus, where are you? I will tell someone to come to you." "No need. And there is a sniper on my side, so stay put." "A sniper?" "Yeah, I took out others. I need a second, so hold on." I gut the line and move into position. I aim and take out the sniper. I smile and move back downstairs, "west is clear; I am moving to the north." "Roger," comes Nick's answer.

I can feel the heat that comes from the fire behind me. The house is on fire, and I can feel my wounds more now. I took out more assassins, but the enemy surrounded me. Despite the pain, I stand straight and hold my gun in front of me on the big boss. He smirks at me, "drop your weapon, little girl. You don't want to shoot the wrong person accidentally." I smile sweetly at him, "I don't consider shooting you a mistake."

He smiles brightly, "Oh my. I didn't think you had more balls than your brothers." "You underestimated me because I am a girl. Don't worry; you aren't the first chauvinist pig I have met." The parrot chuckled, "wow, I like you. Too bad, I have to take you out." I smile at him, "I do not like you, so how do you want to do it. Are you going to let the others do your dirty work? Like when you ordered my brothers' hit?" He stilled, "how do you know?" "Oh, I know so much more. You'd be surprised what I can find out when people are after me, without a reason."

I saw someone move closer to me; I lifted my left hand, "I wouldn't do that if I were you. Stay away, step back where you were." The parrot nodded, and the person moved back. I tilted my head slightly, "where is your brother? Is he scared?" I noted his eyes flashed with anger, and I smiled, "so we have the same outcome because of your hunger for power. You killed my brothers, and we managed to return the favor." Someone stepped closer again, and I fired my gun at the parrot's leg, "I said, stay back. What did you not understand?" The man took another step toward me, and I fired at him. He is now dead on the ground. I didn't even turn my head towards him; I looked at the parrot as he grabbed his leg."

"You bitch! I will make you pay for that," the Parrot yelled. I shrugged, "so what? You started this. I did not have any part in it before you came after me. And I take that personally. Don't forget it." He shakes his head, "you are something else. I can make a grown man break into a sweat with just a look, but you aren't afraid." "Why should I be scared? You are just a man, an evil one but still a man. And besides, I have seen so many scary people in my life. You don't qualify in that list." He chuckled again, "I thought that a princess like you have seen anything scary in her life." "Oh, you would be surprised," I whispered to myself. I heard a helicopter moving closer to our location.

"What is this? Find out," the Parrot ordered. A man ran away somewhere and came back after a minute. "It looks like one person is in the helicopter, and it flew to the south." I smiled discreetly. I had my earpiece still in, and I turned it back on. I heard, "Hey, honey. I am home." I chuckled, "nice to hear you finally showed up to the party." The Parrot turned to me, "who are you talking to?" I smiled at him, "your worst nightmare." "What? Nick finally showed up?" I shake my head and chuckle, "oh, no. He has been here the whole time. I was talking about him."

I pointed my left hand over my head towards Amir, who came in from my left. The men surrounding me stepped back at the sight of him, startled. I smiled at him, "you took your time; you were supposed to be here over 10 minutes ago." He gave me a small smile, "what? And being on time would have ruined your fun with him." "Thanks, you know me so well." "Who the hell are you?" asked the Parrot. I looked at him baffled, "wow, and you want to be in power? Ask your men; they did recognize him, after all." He turned to a man to his right, but the man shook his head.

"Someone tell me who he is? Now." Someone behind said, "that is the ghost, the most ruthless killer out there. He should be dead. He is from ISIS." The Parrot turned back to Amir and me, "how do you two know each other?" I smiled, "oh, you are slow. I told you I know scary people, and besides, I was the one who made him disappear two years ago." "Hails, maybe stop playing with the pry and let me work now. You should go to Nick; he is waiting for you." "Oh, no. I want to have fun too." Amir chuckles, "I told him the same thing; Nick didn't want to stay put, so I made Jack hold him in place. Others are safe, too; they are waiting for us. We have about 10 minutes." I nod, "okay, let's get this party finished."

I smile at them, "if anyone wants to live after the times up, I suggest you put your guns down and get down on the ground on your stomach." They all look around and lift their weapons at us. I sigh, "oh, well. It was nice to know you." I shoot two of them, and I drop down on my knees. Amir shoots with both guns and takes out four of them simultaneously. I rolled away from my spot; I shot and took out more enemies. Finally, two of them were left and yelled out, "wait." The gunfire ended, and the Parrot asked, "what now?" "I wanted to tell you that you fucked up by coming after my family. The Woods family is a force that should be recon with." He laughed, "what family? You are the only one left; I don't think one person makes a family."

I smiled at him, "well, you are misinformed. Time is up." I look to my right, where my brothers and dad walk towards us. "Well, you messed up more than twice, by the way. You have been making mistakes for over two years now. And you don't even know it." I turn my back to him, and I can see their fury. "Well, I can fix that right now," he lifts his gun towards them, and at the last second, he turns it to me and shoots me. I hit the ground hard, hearing Amir firing his gun at him. The next thing I hear is Nick's voice, "hold on; I still need you. Please, hold on. Hails, I love you. Please, hold on." I hear my brothers tell me they love me and that I will be okay. I am so tired, and the last thing I see is Nick's teary face.
