Part LXIX - THE CULPRIT

"Sehun hyung won't tell me. He said it is better for the man to tell me himself."

That can only mean...

"He's closer to you than we think he is?" I conclude and Namjoon nods, "Can it be Sejin Oppa?"

"I don't think so," Namjoon shakes his head, "If it is him, it would be for the company's sake. He wouldn't gain any personal benefit from those acts."

Then... No way... It can't be...

"I think it's one of the members," Namjoon said the suspicion on my mind out loud. We stay silent for a minute, staring at each other, trying to read each other in a pool of emotions.

"As much as I don't want to believe that, it is actually possible," I'm the one who opens my mouth first, "Besides, Seokjin Oppa did said something puzzling to me once. I think he knows something but doesn't have the courage to spill it to me."

"Wait, you're right!" Namjoon eyes lit up, "I talked to Jin hyung before too and it seems like he might know something. Aish! Who is he protecting that he covered it up from us?"

"Yeah," I trail absent-mindedly. Both Namjoon and I lost on our minds, thinking about the possibility.

I'm really close with all of the hyung line, I don't think they would do that to me. Is it possible that one of the maknaes did that? Maybe one of them doesn't want him to be distracted? Or probably take a liking on Namjoon?

Jimin is really close with Joon, but no way he would do something like that. Besides, he has a long-term girlfriend with a stable relationship. Taehyung does get possessive sometimes, but just like Jimin, he has a girlfriend. VMin is the biggest supporter of my relationship with Yoongi, but they wouldn't know about my history with Namjoon.

Now Jungkook... He does admire Joonie very much. He also knows about our affair even before LA. He is a master in photography and has a brilliant mind. And Seokjin Oppa has always been a bit protective over JK. Also, even though I did talked with him on numerous occasions, he is the most distant member from me. No way...

"I think it's Yoongi hyung," Namjoon blurts out his mind.

"Yah, Kim Namjoon!" I harshly yell, "Let's not accuse without robust evidence."

"Then find it, we will," He sounds determined, "I want the truth."

"Besides, who do you think will benefit more other than Yoongi hyung?" He adds, "He is also really close to Seokjin hyung. Maybe he consulted him or something."

"No, no," I shake my head, "If it's Yoongi, he will not consult someone over something like this. He will definitely plan it himself but won't give an order or execute them on his own. He will influence someone to do it. Yoongi is a masked mastermind kind of man. He doesn't like his hand dirty."

"But, he doesn't have a clue about us, Joon. Even until today," I continue, "I don't think it's Yoongi."

"Yeah, Yoongi hyung doesn't seem like he knows," Namjoon bites the side of his lower lip, thinking. Namjoon faced criticism about his dry lips during his early debut days, which is why he has been really obsessed with lip balms. That is how his lips are now in a very prime condition. Soft, plump and sweet-scented.

Alright, Y/N, snap yourself out of it!

"But Joon," I take his hand and entwined it with mine, "It's been two years. What if we just forget it and move on? It's not like we can gain anything from confronting the perpetrator."

"I can't," Namjoon shakes his head, "It broke us apart, Y/N! I need to know if it's a mistake or what. If it never happened, we wouldn't do any of this secretly and behind everyone's back. If it never happened, You'd be mine."
