She spent an hour trying to free herself from the ropes, getting rope burns as she went. At around 6, she felt her hands loosen. Sydnee realised she was naked top to bottom, so she began working at her legs, which were tied to the chair legs, and it hadn't taken her too long.

Once she was free and dressed in some pajamas, she peaked out her door to see if anyone was there. Once she was sure no one was going to come up, she walked to her parents' bedroom and slowly opened the door, seeing inside that her father was passed out on the floor, the smell of beer too strong to handle. Instead, she backed away and showered, scrubbing as hard as she could to get the dirty feeling she had all over her.

She scrubbed herself pink, and even then she couldn't get of the feeling. Sydnee gave up after about an hour, and got out to do her hair and makeup. She pulled on a black crewneck and some gray skinny jeans to hide the bruises, and left her hair out. The sleeves of her crewneck were pulled up just a bit, to seem casual, but not enough to show the scars on her arms. She didn't want anyone questioning her about the bruises, or scars from the past.

Eventually, it was 8 and time to head out. Sydnee didn't eat much so she grabbed a water bottle, and an apple and decided she'd suffice for the day.

When she got to the bus stop, she found Cody there. He saw her first though, and waved. She waved back, but winced a bit from the bruises all over.

"Cute outfit," Cody said to her, "I like my shirt better though."

Sydnee saw his white Blessthefall shirt, and agreed that it was much better than her crewneck.

"Any plans this weekend?" Cody asked as they waited for the bus. Sydnee just shook her head; she never had any plans, ever.

"Wanna hang out on Saturday?" he continued, "My friend's having a party at his place. I thought I'd go, I just need someone to go with..."

"Sure," she said softly, "I'll go with you."

"Seriously?" Cody hadn't expected much of an answer, "Okay! Yeah! I'll uh, pick you up.. at.."

"Six?" she suggested, "I just need time to finish some assigments."

"Yeah, six sounds good," Cody smiled at her, "What's your address?"

Sydnee said she'd give it to him in English, and just as she finished, the bus came to a halt in front of them. They both climbed on and flashed their bus passes, and found some seats at the back. Sydnee fell asleep, being tired from the night's horrifying events. Cody adjusted himself so she leaned on his shoulder, and caught himself staring and admiring her features, noticing a slight smile as she slept. When he realised he was staring, he looked away and blushed, even though he knew no one was actually watching him.

He hated to admit it, but he had an actual crush. For the first time ever. At school, he'd caught himself thinking about her, and couldn't keep himself away from him. He became a total fool in front of her. It made him upset that day to think she smoked. He knew she already had problems, she'd seen the scars that covered her arms that day she saw her in gym.

"Sydnee," he whispered, nudging her a bit, "We're at school. Get up."

Sydnee just snuggled in more, refusing to get up.

"Sydnee," he tickled her, "Come on!"

She giggled, and Cody instantly thought it was the sweetest sound he'd ever heard.

"We're at school," Cody repeated, "You gotta wake up."

Sydnee blinked a few times, and realised who she was cuddling. She shot up straight away, blushing furiously.
