As some of you may have noticed, each chapter has lyrics above it. Apart from the epilogue (which is Only A Lifetime by FINNEAS, and basically talks about how our time in the world is limited and how we should make the most of it by reaching out to the ones we love), all the other chapters feature lyrics from Hero by Family of the Year. I initially chose it because its lyrics encapsulate Chase's feelings perfectly: the desire not to be a Great hero with a capital G, but just a person. It's about feeling like you're just a kid but having to assume responsibility for things. I listened to it while writing every chapter, and I highly recommend you give it a listen too; it's amazing. And then I realised that the artist was Family of the Year, and because the ONC theme was about family, I just thought it couldn't get any more perfect.
