'Left, right, DUCK'

No time to look back now as the others appeared. One with a strange sort of coat was on our right, and a greenish one was to the left. They all worked seamlessly, not one was left behind as they chased us.

'They're herding us?'

They're leading us somewhere. None of their shots have hit, yet they're obviously hunters. Keeping close, but giving us wiggle room. They seem determined to get us somewhere. Why?

I heard the water before I saw it, to the left behind the 'thing' there was a waterfall going over a cliff. Based on the sound it was big, and a lot of water below. The only obstacle was the creature between us.

'Won't know till we try'

"LEFT! '' I shouted, if we were gonna make it we needed teamwork.

Barry saw the water and raised the gun, changing direction he laid down cover fire. I pivoted whilst still running sporadically. The creature seemed surprised, raising its arms and backing away from the bullets. The other two let out an ear splitting roar. Seriously, ouch.

"Hurry!" Barry ordered, running in the same direction as me.

"What the hell!" Zeke screamed,"you're crazy!"

I made it past the creature. It glanced at me, from under its mask I couldn't decipher any emotion. But it felt worried, or scared. Refocusing, I saw the cliff. I was so close, just a little longer…

An explosion went off right behind me. Good news is there was water at the bottom, bad news all the air was knocked from my lungs. The water was cold, and stung my body at the impact. Two splashes followed mine, Barry and Zekes.  The water numbed my muscles and almost felt nice, but the lack of oxygen was becoming a problem. Resurfacing I couldn't see the hunters, only our group.

"Come on,  we gotta get out of this water." Barry commented, he looked tired. Like sickly tired.

The humid air didn't help to dry us, but it was warm. After we exited the water, we managed to find a small cave to rest in. We just sat there in shock, and maybe a little bit of hope. We managed to out maneuver those things! We can fight back.

"Dammit," Barry huffed," I'm almost out of bullets."

" Shit." Great, just great. This is the last thing we needed.

Barry looked contempt as he stared out of the cave. A sort of gloom falling onto his face. He seemed sick, large bags under his eyes, running slow, and pale skin. Something was wrong.

'And things just keep getting worse'

"You doin alright Barry?" He should be fine right? Just the shock of cold water, poor rest, and no food. Right?

"No actually." Barry looked at me, his eyes were dull.

"Well can it fucking wait?" Zeke grumbled.

"What is your problem!? Something is clearly upsetting him!" How can people be this heartless?

"It's alright Y/N, I don't expect sympathy." Once again Barry looked out the entrance of the cave." I think I might be dying."

'WHAT'

"What the hell Barry!? Are you ok!!" He's dying? I mean he looks sick sure but he's not bleeding or wounded it looks.

"While we were running I ran through some bushes, and part of it came with me. Because apparently the plants here are carnivorous as well." He explained.

"Dude, a plant is gonna kill ya?" Zeke chided with a smug look on his face.

"I think it was venomous." Barry grunted while rolling up his sleeve, to reveal a small bite. Despite its size, the wound looked awful. A dark purple ran from the bite along his veins, the bite itself was all black and swollen.
