On the counter behind him was a beautiful cake with a candle on it
"A strawberry shortcake!" Elsa says excited as she looks back at him

"Make a wish" he reminds her. So she closes her eyes, comes up with a wish and blows the candle.
"I don't think I can love you more" she jumps on him and kisses him.

"Do you want to dive into the shortcake, shortcake?" he suggests

"Oh yes!" she answers and climbs down. She takes a fork and takes a big bite.
"Wow... This is paradise" she says as she chews the heavenly cake.

"There is one more surprise..." Loki says.

Elsa turns and sees him down on one knee holding a small box with a emerald green crystal and gold ring in it.
"I asked you this before, but it's only appropriate if I do it again. Will you marry me?" he asks

"You don't have to. You were dying when you asked me" she remembers

"I meant it. I love you. That I never doubted. I want nothing else in this life than to be with you. And the time we had just the two of us, made me even more sure. I want my future to be like that. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to wake up next to you every morning, spend every moment of my day with you. To listen to your beautiful voice, and watch your beautiful form everyday... And then fall asleep again holding you. I don't want to spend another second away from you. And that's because I love you so much. I love you more than anything in all nine realms and I'd do anything for you. I want to give you everything. But I can only do that if you want it too. So Elsa, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?" he asks again

"Of course" she answers and gets on her knees to hug him
"How could I ever say no?" she chuckles and kisses him.

Loki slides the ring in her finger and they both look at it.
"Do you like it? I made it a while ago, I was just waiting for the right opportunity and then I got tired of waiting" he says

"I love it. And I love you. This is the best birthday I've ever had"

"I love you more" he replies and kisses her.
"And it wouldn't be appropriate if we ended this day with clothes on" he suggests

"You're absolutely right" she agrees and pulls him in by the colar of his shirt.

They both hear the front door open and close. They stop and pull away immediately
"Stay here" Loki says

"No, you stay here" Elsa argues with a whisper

"Fine, we're going together" he gives up and they go to the door.

But it was non other than Thor
"Hello, brother, Elsa. Am I interrupting something?" he asks

"A little bit" Elsa admits

"Next time you decide to come in the middle of the night, let me know beforehand because you could have found us in a very intimate position" Loki warns him

"Ok, I get it. I am only here because I need talk to you for a moment. It's an emergency" he says to Loki

"I'll leave you two alone" Elsa says and goes upstairs, without forgetting to take the champagne with her.

She sits on the bed and picks up her book as she waits. Eventually, she heard the door again and a moment later Loki came in the room.

"Everything ok?" she asks

"My brother came to tell me what Odin has been up to these days" he replies as he sits on the bed with her and rests his head on her lap.
"Apparently he has announced both of us dead to the people and blamed it on a cook that supposedly poisoned dinner. Luckily the great king survived the poisoning..." he says mocking him on the last part

"Did he really turn that so he'd seem stronger?" Elsa asks surprised as she brushes his hair with her fingers.

"Yes. And he just executed an innocent cook to convince everyone" he informs her

"Are you serious? I think Odin needs to step down because he's going crazy" she suggests

"Well, now he is talking about a new arrangement for the future king and is having a ball in order to pick a bride. The only reason Thor didn't stop him is because mother begged him to just let the ball happen so Odin would be happy, and just pretend that he wasn't interested in anyone. But he is still looking for an easy way out"

"How about we crash the party?" Elsa suggests.
"Pick a bride for the prince... I'm imagining all wealthy and powerful fathers from all nine realms bringing their daughters in. So picture Odin's expression when two ghosts walk in" she explains and takes a sip of her champagne.

Loki looks sceptical, biting the inside of his cheek. But when he finally looks back to her, he smiles
"This is why I love you, shortcake. Now, where were we?" he asks. She pulls him up by his colar again and he crawls on top of her.
