bakugou had wanted to pay for himself. he hated the idea of owing shinsou anything since this date was all a prank anyways. he knew no one would've actually wanted to go on a date with him willingly. bakugou didn't have much to offer in terms of relationships.

he caught up to shinsou inside the carnival and was amazed by what he saw. he stood there in awe of everything around him. his parents were always too busy to take him places like this. they had a whole fashion business to run they couldn't be bothered with pointless things like taking your child to a carnival.  bakugou was filled with excitement and wonder.

shinsou realized bakugou wasn't walking with him. he turned back to see bakugou's eyes roaming around the carnival. not that he'd admit it but bakugou looked adorable with his eyes wide and twinkling with a childish glow.

"come on slow poke" shinsou shouted

"shut the fuck up" bakugou said as he caught up to shinsou

"what do you wanna do first"

"i don't know i've never been to a carnival, you pick" bakugou said as the two walked through the fair grounds

"then we have to do the bumper carts first" shinsou said as he grabbed bakugous wrist and pulled him in the direction of said bumper carts

the two got into seperate cars and bakugou spent the whole time trying his best to hit shinsou. it actually surprised shinsou how happy bakugou looked. he had a genuine smile on his face, not one of those weird smirks he does. everytime he hit shinsou he let out the most angelic laugh shinsou had ever heard

when the ride was over shinsou insisted they played the game where you squirt water at a target and whoever fills it up first wins. to his surprise bakugou lost and shinsou won.

"well pick a prize" shinsou said to bakugou

"but you won"

"yeah but i'm the one who's taking you out on a date so i wanna do the corny "winning your date a present" thing"

bakugou thought this over for a second

"then get the giant strawberry" he said

shinsou laughed

"why the strawberry it's basically the same size as you "

"because i fucking like strawberries" grumbled out bakugou as a rosy blush of dumb embarrassment overtook his checks

"so cute" shinsou said to himself under his breath

"it's getting kinda late. we might miss curfew if we don't head back soon" bakugou pointed out

"we'll ride the ferris wheel and then head back , yeah? "

"im not getting in that death trap"

"yes you are now come on" shinsou once again pulled bakugou towards the ride

they left the stuffed strawberry with the worker and got in the ride. shinsou felt the seat shake and wondered if there was something wrong with the ride. he almost called the worker over when he looked over and saw the state of bakugou. the boy was a shaking mess. it made no sense for him to be scared of heights but i guess it's different when it's in a ride he has no control over.

shinsou sighed. he decided to do the dumbest thing ever. he faked a yawn and stretch. he used this opportunity to put his arm around bakugou. he pulled the boy in and held him close.

"what the fuck are you doing" bakugou asked but didn't move away

"just being a good date "

when the ride actually started up bakugou cling onto shinsou for dear life. he ducked his head down into shinsous shoulder. it was so cute to shinsou.

"bakugou it's not that bad it's totally safe on here" shinsou reassured the boy

bakugou shook his head no

the whole three minutes they were on the ride were spent like this. shinsou reassuring bakugou and bakugou refusing to take his head out of shinsous shoulder.

when they got off the ride bakugou turned to shinsou

"you speak nothing of this"
