Masami is a calm and discreet young man who doesn't like to be noticed and spends more time daydreaming in his corner or working than spending time with others. Nevertheless, he remains a loyal, attentive, and benevolent friend who can be counted on even if he is too distant at times, for fear of disturbing others. Because of his solitary past, Masami is a sensitive and reserved person who is easily influenced by others, which can sometimes be detrimental to him.
Masami who grew up in the country is someone who is very close to nature, liking to ride his bike or practice archery on his own. So he is not very comfortable when he is in the city or in the middle of a big crowd.

Growing up as the youngest of three siblings, Masami had a difficult childhood filled with teasing and bullying. Despite his kind and gentle nature, he struggled to assert himself among his peers and often found himself the target of ridicule. However, this all changed when he met Ken Sukoku, who stood up for him against his tormentors. The two became fast friends and shared a common goal of becoming professional heroes. Determined to achieve their dream, Masami and Ken trained rigorously, pushing themselves to their limits. For Masami, this meant a dramatic transformation in his physical appearance as he shed excess weight and built a stronger, more confident demeanor. Their hard work paid off when they were both accepted into U.A., the most prestigious hero academy in the country. While Ken was placed in Class A, Masami was assigned to Class B, but this did not dampen his determination to continue striving for excellence.
