Third Persons POV
"Morning girl" Charlie says when he wakes up and he notices Jewel isn't on her bed. He frowns in confusion getting out of bed. He puts on his slippers and leaves the room. He notices Bella's door ajar. "I wonder" he mutters and heads to it. As soon as he reaches the door way he shakes his head in amusement.
Didn't take Jewel's long to realize Bella would let her on the bed whenever she wanted. Both girls are sleeping soundly. Jewel curled up beside Bella. Charlie left them and went to make breakfast.
Jewel's POV
I wake up to the smell of bacon. I yawn and stretch. Then nudge Bella. "Wha what?" she groans. I yip pawing at her quilt. She looks at the clock. "Seriously Jewel, you have nothing better to do at 6:30 in the morning?" she asks as she sits up. I shake my head. "Well go on, I'll be down shortly" she tells me.
I yip and race downstairs. I go outside and relieve myself. Before going to the kitchen where my breakfast is waiting. I start to eat it as Bella appears. "Ready for your first day?" Charlie asks her.
"I guess so, will you be a work with Jewel?" she asks him.
"Yeah, but I'll finish around dinner time. Do you want to go to the diner for dinner?" he asks her. I yip happily. I love the diner, I always get a bone.
"Sure, sounds good" Bella tells him. "I should get going, don't want to be late on my first day" she states. She grabs a bag and keys before leaving.
"Make sure she gets there safely" Charlie tells me. I bark and run outside and jump into the bed of the ute. As Bella started it. She didn't notice me. I lay down as she drove to the high school.
She arrives about ten minutes later and park. She gets out of the ute. "Nice truck" Tyler says. She nods her head and goes inside. Mission complete, Bella arrived safely. I jump out of the bed of the ute and run to the station. I arrive at the sometime as Waylon.
"Jewel, morning girl" he says and pats me. "You beat Charlie here" he states and I yip. Just then Charlie arrives and I rush over sitting on his left.
"Bella get to school safely?" he asks and I yip. "Good girl" he praises me. "Morning Waylon" he says.
"Morning Charlie" he says shaking his hand. "How'd the first night with Bella back go?" he asks.
"Good, Jewel has already learnt that she can go onto Bella's bed. Sneaked in there last night after I fell asleep. And slept there" Charlie tells him and Waylon chuckles.
"Definitely smart" Waylon states as we enter the station. I go lay under Charlie's desk as he starts his mound of paper work. Waylon goes to his desk and starts his own.
It was a very boring day. Though Charlie did get a phone call from the head of the police canine unit in Port Angeles. Apparently, they were wondering if Charlie would be interested in having me breed with another dog. Whatever that means. He told them he'd think about it and let them know soon.
Charlie sent me to go collect Bella. I ran to the school and waited in the bed of the ute. When I see her I yip happily wagging my tail. "Jewel!" she says surprised. "Did Charlie send you?" she asks and I yip as she gives me a pat. "Well lets not keep him waiting" she tells me opening the car door.
I look at her confused. "Well come on, hop in girl" she tells me gesturing to the front seat. I've never being in the front seat. "It's ok" she tells me and I jump out of the bed and then onto the front passenger seat. She gets in the drivers side and starts the car. She cracks the window for me and takes off.
We soon arrive and go inside to see Charlie waiting. I go lay under the table as Bella sits beside him. Cora soon appears with my bone and to take their orders. She hands me my bone, which I happily munch on. She took their order and brought it over.
"I can't get over how grown up you are. And so gorgeous" Cora says smiling a Bella. I whine. "Of course not as gorgeous as you Jewel" she assures me. I wag my tail satisfied and go back to my bone. As Waylon appears.
"Remember me, honey?" he asks Bella. "I was Santa one year" he adds.
"Waylon, she hasn't had a Christmas here since she was four" Charlie tells him.
"Bet I made an impression, though" Waylon tells him.
"You always do" Charlie tells him.
"Let the girl eat her cod, Waylon" Cora tells him. "When you're done, I'll bring your favorite - berry cobbler. Remember? Your dad still has it. Every Thursday" she tells Bella smiling.
"That'd be great, thank you" Bella says. Cora and Waylon leave."So... you eat here every night?" she asks Charlie.
"Easier then washing dishes" he tells her.
"I can cook" Bella tells him. Charlie looks up, as if confused by the concept. "I do the cooking at home - in Phoenix. Mom's not great in the kitchen" she states.
"I remember" Charlie says with a chuckle. Bella laughs also. "How was school? Meet anyone?" he asks her changing the subject.
"A few people. Do you know the Cullen family?" she asks him. I stop eating and sneeze, the Cullens smell funny.
"Are people talking about them again?" Charlie asks annoyed.
"No, well a little" Bella admits.
"Just because they're newcomers. We're lucky to have a surgeon like Dr. Cullen at our podunk hospital. Lucky his wife wanted to live in a small town. Lucky his kids aren't like a lot of the hell-raisers around here" he tells her.
"Okay" Bella says.
"I just don't like narrow mindedness" he tells her in a gentler tone. They ate the rest of their meal in silence. When it was over I headed for Bella's car. "Jewel?" Charlie says confused. Bella opens the door and nods at me. I yip happily and jump into the front seat. "You're going to spoil her Bella" Charlie chuckles. "See you girls at home" he adds before getting into his cruiser.
Bella drives us home. I relieve my self and have a drink of water before going to my toy box. I fin a rope and take it to Bella. I place it at her feet and wait patiently. "What does she want me to do?" Bella asks Charlie.
"She wants you to either throw it or play tug of war with her" he tells her. She made an 'oh' sound and grabbed the rope offering it to me. I take it and we start to play tug of war, which I won easily. She didn't put up much of a fight, unlike Charlie. We play for awhile while Charlie watched TV. Before we all called it a night.
I slept in Bella's room again. I feel asleep as she talked to her mother on the phone. I wonder if I'll ever meet Renee?
