XI. Destiny

Everything changed. Since the enlightenment, the explosion of popular ideas never stopped. Industrialization, Science, War, Revolution, Liberty, Technology. It was difficult to catch up with all the wonders and failures that humans found across the years.

But one invention in specific changed my life. Blood Bank. I will be forever grateful to this creation. Joseph and I can eat properly since then, it opened uncountable experiences in our life.

I have visited many countries, I have studied different careers, I have learned multiple languages. But we had to move after a few years otherwise we will be suspicious.

Thankfully they don't call us "bloodsuckers" or "beasts" anymore, they recognize us as "vampires" fictional beings. If you tell someone you're a vampire they will laugh in your face, somehow is a relief.

Today it's the first day of my second year in college. I chose an art degree this time. I have wonderful friends and the campus is beautiful.
I'm starting to think that I'm a little bit closer to happiness.

"Joseph, I'm leaving" I said loudly before going to the main door
"My lady, you don't need to push yourself so hard" he said to me worried
"It's okay" I replied to him "I need to do something otherwise I will get bored" I smiled and give him a big hug.

Joseph told me one time that maybe I need to take a rest. Stop studying or working but I'm okay. I like to pretend to be normal.
I have mixed emotions as to what to expect this year but I'm looking forward to having meaningful experiences.

"Jisoo! We are late" a girl called my name while running towards me, it took me a few seconds to recognize her voice
"Lisa! Why is your hair pink?" I asked amused
"Yah let's talk later, we have five minutes left" she grabbed my hand and started to run fast

Lisa is the first friend I made when I came to this city. She was shy and barely talked but since I invited her for lunch she has been this beautiful playful little cat. She's one of the kindest people I have ever met in my whole life and that's a lot to say.

The bell is ringing as we arrived at our classroom. I have a difficult time trying to catch my breath but Lisa looks so fresh.
"You need to exercise more Chu," she said mocking me
"I'm too old for this" I told myself but Jimin heard me
"Old? You look like you're fifteen" he replied to me while he put his bag on the desk
"You're late" Lisa said to him while taking a sit
"As far as I know I was behind you two" he hissed back

Jimin is one of Lisa's friends since they're from the same department. The dance department to be exact, they're very competitive but I'm sure their friendship is genuine.

I laughed at their little combo and finally took a sit besides Lisa. "Then... are you going to tell me why is your hair pink?" I asked her
"Oh" she said surprised brushing her bangs with her fingers "Don't you like it?" She asked with a soft voice
"I love it, you look even more beautiful" I replied her smiling
"You're making me blush maybe I will fall for you" she said elbowing me
"You look just like a cotton candy" Jimin interrupted us
"No one is—"

Lisa was about to fire back but suddenly Miss Choi entered the room.
"Good morning everyone" she said putting her books on the table "Before starting a new student is joining us this semester, please introduce yourself"

I was distracted on Lisa and Jimin fight but a deep voice broke my trance
"Nice to meet you..." like a reflex I turned my head trying to find the source of the voice

'It's his voice'

"I'm Kim Taehyung" he continued

'The same name'

"I hope we can get along well" he finished before taking a sit

'It was him'

My heart is beating fast, so fast I feel like my chest is about to explode. My hands are ice cold and my eyes are getting glossy.

"This is impossible" I uttered under my breath
"Are you okay?" Lisa asked me worried
"I have to go" I replied her before leaving the classroom

I started to walk to nowhere while talking on my phone
"How is this possible?" I screamed
"I don't think it's him" Joseph answer me from the other side "He was just a human"
"Then why is he in my class? Is his voice, his face, his name I'm going insane" I told him in the verge of crying
"My lady try to calm yourself and come back home" he said before I finished the call

I'm thankful that this artifact exist, back then you wouldn't communicate this fast. Without Joseph's words I would freak out even more.

'there must be a explanation'

I turned myself to go home but my face hit something soft. It was someone's chest.
"I'm sorry" I said ashamed and started to walk again
"Excuse me..." his voice resonates in my head 'I recognize that voice'
"I have to go, I'm sorry" I replied without looking at him. He grabbed my arm to stop me.
"Just a minute" he said "I just want to ask you something" he continued
