After one hour Virat woke up and he saw Mahi at his side. He just hugged him by his waist and cried burying himself in it. Mahi was surprised by that because Virat didn't speak with him for 4 days.
As Virat was so exhausted and emotional he didn't have the energy to fight anymore. So as soon as he saw Mahi he could not control himself.
Mahi just rubbed his back to stop him from crying. Virat just cried and cried saying- "Bhai please .. take back ur retirement.. please bhai .. everything will be normal after that .. please bhai !"
Mahi just felt so helpless hearing that. He didn't know what to say. He just hugged him tightly and said softly - "Cheeku bacha mai kahi nahi ja raha hu .. mai yahi hu tere pass .. I will always be with u"
Virat just looked at him with teary eyes and asked like a child - "Why didn't u tell us ? Didn't u trust us ? If u could have informed us atleast it may be less painful"
Mahi said sadly - "Perhaps that is the big mistake I have done Cheeku .. I am so sorry that I didn't inform you and Ro .. I have no words to say that how sorry I am for that .. but Cheeku u have to understand.. this is the time for me to get retire .. and give someone else the opportunity. U remember u once told me that it's the body and mental health will give us the signal to stop then we have to stop .. that is the reason Cheeku .. And if I am getting retire that doesn't mean that I will not be there for you .. I am gonna always be there .. just one call away .. I know physical presence does matter but our connection is beyond that Cheeku .. please understand.. I will be always there for u."
Virat - "I don't know bhai it is extremely difficult.. somehow it feels that I am suddenly surrounded by darkness from where I cannot get back up.. u were always my guiding light bhai .. always to bring me back from any situation.."
Mahi - "I am going to be always there Cheeku .. why are u thinking like that ? Don't think like that .. I will be always with u whenever u need me .."
Virat asked with tears in his eyes like a child - "Promise" Mahi answered lovingly - "Yes bacha I promise"
Rohit said softly - "Vi come on now eat something.. u haven't ate anything properly"
Virat said - "'Please Ro Abhi man nahi hai .. and it is making me nauseous.. I will try after some time"
Mahi said - "Cheeku don't take this anxiety pills from now on okay .. it will affect u more. Whenever u feel like taking it .. u call me or Rohit okay ?"
Virat - But bhai I am not able to sleep .. not even an hour .. it makes so irritated.
Mahi - "Cheeku I know how difficult it is okay .. but now u have to try okay .. And don't think negatively .. I am always by ur side"
Rohit - "Vi that's u want a break because u r feeling like this ..?"
Virat said slowly- "Ya .. the minute I saw the post it was happening.. the darkness , not able to breathe.. I didn't understand what to do"
Mahi - "But Cheeku u played so well today.. u think taking a break will be good idea?"
Rohit - Yes Vi .. u know despite of all this .. u managed to play so well
Mahi - u know why ?
Virat looked at him for answers.
Mahi - "Because it's the game which defines us .. u know this game of cricket made our relations .. Cheeku the passion u have that is so special ! U have no idea !! So think about it okay .. Think about ur decisions .. Have u thought how team will get affected by this .. the kiddos who look upto u .. it's not going to be easy for anyone .. so both of u have to be very thoughtful about ur decisions"
Virat and Rohit - "We will think about it"
Mahi said in a low voice - "And I am really sorry for shouting at u that day"
Virat - "No bhai we are sorry because we spoke to u that way .. it's just that we were just feeling very empty and didn't know how to handle everything"
Mahi - "I know Cheeku but u know I should have understood u both and how u both where feeling at that time .. it's just that I was angry at u both to just checkout like that and leave .. u know I got so scared that where u both were .. where did u both go ?"
Rohit - "Bhai we are sorry for that .. actually we went to that place where we took you for ur bday"
Virat - "It was just so peaceful there .. sorry for leaving like that And we are also sorry because we know how difficult it is for u to not play this game anymore for the country.. we should have thought about that .. we are really sorry bhai"
Mahi - "No Cheeku I understand ur emotions okay"
Rohit - Now enough of this .. Vi I am ordering food now .. U have to eat okay!
Virat started making faces for it. Mahi said - "Cheeku I will make u eat small bites okay .. try it" Virat immediately nodded.
Rohit just mumbled - "Such a kid u are .."
Three of them had food with usual banters and random talks.
Mahi hold both of their hands and said softly - "U know I really underestimated my worth in your lives but I understand it now . So I promise u to be always there for u no matter what the situation is .. I really love u both"
Rohit and Virat together- "We love u too bhai!" Saying this they hugged him.
