Shinji:(sigh) Sorry, this isn't why I'm here... My stupid clone is in space with Asuka and Rei.
Shinji: And he's causing trouble...
Eva 01:?
Shinji: I need you... If I want to make sure they're safe...
Shinji: Please... Help me.
Eva 01:...
Shinji: I'm sorry for what happened... But it's always something with you.
Shinji: And... That's not an excuse but, still... You're a sensitive subject.
Shinji: I just don't want to suffer more...
Shinji: If you decide to help me... I want you to know, things will change... and I would like someone to have my back.
Eva 01 walks away.
Shinji:... Yeah... Fair enough.
(In space)
Blasting through everything in her way, Rei did all she could to find either the source of Lilith's resurrection or Yn.
(SPLAT)
Comming across the latter, Rei discovered Yn in his F-type armored Mass production Evangelion, wandering with the spear of Longinus between its fingers.
Yn:(speaker) Hey sis. Isn't this place ridiculous? It's filled with enough LCL vapors for sound to travel.
Rei:(speaker) What are you doing?
Yn:(speaker) Saving the world. You?
Rei:(speaker) I do not understand.
Yn:(speaker) Right... You're a bit "slow". To sum it up... I'm letting Langley be a distraction as her Eva goes under the same process as Unit 01.
Yn:(speaker) While I but an end to mommy.
Rei:(speaker) Why did you get involved? We had the situation under control.
Yn:(speaker) Oh please, you two would have found a way to fuck it up.
Yn:(speaker) And despite circumstances, I do not wish death if it doesn't serve a purpose.
Yn:(speaker) And if you two were to die, that bastard would probably make up with his Eva at any cost to avoid that ever happening again.
Yn:(speaker) If you think about it... You should be thankful. You're welcome!
He continues on through Lilith's internals. Rei kept her finger on the trigger in case she had to.
Asuka in the meantime found her sync rate with her Evangelion go up to levels only Shinji has gone to, and not in a good way.
As Shinji once become nothing but LCL in unit 01, Asuka felt the same process happening with her, be it at a slower rate.
Keeping calm, Asuka attempted to will herself to stay in her current state.
Asuka: I... Won't... Become... Goop!
Too busy to realize she was being called by Nerv, and Rei being too deep in Lilith to receive a signal, NERV Japan had lost contact with their attack force.
(Hours later)
Two signals, Unit 02 and 00 were detected, heading straight towards earth like two meteors.
Contact was still not made, however through the Magi, the team learned of where they would be landing.
Rei, Brazil. Asuka, what was once Antarctica.
