PART 13 - FAMILY

Both Karan and Teja knew how important it is for them individually to know their families get along really well, not that they had any doubts considering all the interactions that they have had with their partners family but all of them happened virtually but now they would be seeing each other, spending four days together will get to know everyone on a more personal level this time. This made them both nervous but at the same time they did not let this nervousness spoil the few moments they had to themselves as from the next day till approximately a week they would not get any time for themselves.
All the siblings arrived the next day, and were now settling in, pra for teju was like her baby in literal sense, he would otherwise live for months together without teju but when she is around he needed her, he wanted her to pamper her every minute, and this is one reason why she did not really miss karan, coz pratik ki harkaate reminded her of her big little baby!
On the other hand, karan being the youngest, in siblings ofcourse was the most pampered right from childhood, so now he was surrounded with his sister's, his jeeju, his bacchas ( nephews) couldn't come coz of some University work, but promised to be there next time. Karan was receiving pampering and a whole list of how he could have been better in the house, what mistakes he did and a big lecture on how irresponsible he is as a person, typical elder sibling thing was happening, and since they were all elder to him, he couldn't really reply and had to sit and listen to everything they were saying much to his annoyance his parents were on their side too, matlab when ladoo came they were on her side and now too they weren't on his side. He was a frustrated man he wanted nothing but to go to his ladoo and lay in her lap and talk to her, kyun ki yaha koi baat karne de rahe nahi hai!! Besides he is sick of the same bigboss stories, and thus gets up at once and goes to his room to call his solace,his ladoo.
Teja picks the phone after few rings and says, "sunnnnyy " with a sigh and missing tone of voice, everything for karan just gets better, maybe hearing her voice is all that he needed, "ladoo, pra theek se aagaya pure do din se tune sahi se baat nahi ki hai," he complaints cutely "ha sunny pra ekdum sahi se aagaya, main bolti thi na tujhe pra is just like you, a big baby, attention ka itna bhuka hai na ki kya batau, abhi sirf ek change hai woh naha aur fresh khud holeta hai baki saab cheezo ke liye mere saamne baitha rehta hai, issiliye toh I took leave coz yeh mahan insaan kahi jane nahi deta " she said, "accha aisa kya karta hai woh" asked a curious karan coz he always felt she was just building castles in air when she used to mention about pra being a baby, all the interaction he has had with pra or seen his social media presence he thought pra is perhaps more mature than teja, before he could begin thinking more she said "karann, bachpan se na mummy busy rahi hai so main uske around hoti thi, school main bhi so he is used to me a lot, aur I felt ki abhi states main rehne ke baad yeh kaam hojaega but nahi, matlab imagine I am running after him to feed him, zidd ki mere haat ki butter chicken khani hai, kal pura ghar sar par uthaliya, fir uske kapde and all set karna, uske baatein sunna, and he just wants me to be around him fir chahe woh kuch bhi kare, goddi main sir rakhke sona hai sir ko, abhi nahane gaya hai isiliye itni baatein kar pa rahi hu tujh se bilkul tere jaisa jealous baccha hai yeh, aur possessive bhi, pata hai jab jab main tujhe call kiya hai in past 2 days, and 5 mins se zyaada baat hui toh daat lagata hai ki life long tere saath hi hongi na, bhai itne time baad aaya hai koi importance hi nahi, mujhe na aisa lagta hi nahi hai ki I am away from you, saab same hai tum dono ka " she said, "accha matlab it's only me who is missing you, aur tujhe toh meri yaad aati hi nahi hai bilkul bhi main hi pagal hu jo tujhe har baar message karta hu, call karta hu sahi hai do din hue nahi ki boyfriend ko bhool gayi hai tu bilkul bhi! " And before teja could answer or karan could continue there came a voice, " sahi kaha jeeju aapne, yeh ladki hai hi aise, abhi kaise meri complaint kar rahi thi, bhool gayi ki same room ke same bathroom main hu and iski awaaz loudspeaker jaise hi hai toh sunne ke liye mehnat nahi karni padti zyaada! Isse na hamari value hi nai hai " said pratik as the call was on speaker coz Teja was folding pra's clothes.
"Hai na pratik, mujhe bhi yahi lagta hai, she just doesn't care for us, jab tu nahi hota toh mujhe paka thi hai abb tujhe paka rahi hai, abb woh butter chicken banati hai accha toh hum kya kare, bolnege hi na banao karke, aur toh aur chopping toh uncle hi karte hai, yeh sirf aakar kuch mila deti hai saaab" said an equally annoyed karan " Chup, tum dono bilkul chup, ek jaise ho issiliye itni banti hai, aur dono itne possessive ho ki kya batau aur Mr sunny bhoolna maat kal ka butter chicken jo tume khaya ghar par was sent by me, looking at pra, aur tu oye pra ke bacche abb aana mere paas dikhati hu tujhe, hump I am not talking to you both!" Said teja and left the room, "sacchi main gayi kya pratik? " Asked a sober karan, " ha jeeju lagta hai thoda zyaada hogaya, but jhoot nahi bolunga," both together said "majja aagaya" and laughed!!
"Accha jeeju, main jo jo saman laya hu iske liye woh dekar main mana lunga abb pangaa sirf aab ka hai" said pratik with a mischievous grin. " Adaat hi hai aise jeene ki abb pratik, kya batau tujhe yaara, tension na le apni ladoo ko manana aata hai mujhe, aur baki baatein ajj sham jab milenge tab karte hai okay? Uncle aunty bhi aarahe hai kya waise main mummy papa ko leke aata hu" said karan,
"Are no no teja ne strictly bola hai it's only siblings night out toh it's just us air Mumbai ki sadke" joked pratik, "accha toh see you in the evening them" said karan and kept the call.
Little did both karan and Pratik know ki teja had a shy smile while she walked off the room, after all who doesn't like gifts, plus some extra attention 😉
