Chapter 41 (Part 2)

Riya placed her hands on her hips and nodded. "I'm impressed with this."

"Me too. There are pictures of the desserts you made as trial runs.", he pointed at the walls. 

She looked at the walls. There were pictures of slices of plain cheesecake, rainbow cake, red velvet and carrot cake. There were also pictures of cupcakes and muffins. Riya was starting with the cakes, cupcakes and muffins first. If her business would make good money then she would add more items in the menu. She was done looking at the building. She really wanted to see what the garden looked like. She went downstairs with Liang, still holding hands. 

They were in the garden, admiring the beautiful flowers and roses. There were two seats of peach shiny tiles, one come from the kitchen and the other coming from the main entrance. There were bright golden lights by the pathways. This garden would be very nice to have lunch breaks. There was a beautiful designed white swing in a corner. The customers could sit and enjoy the beauty of nature. The garden would also be good for the children to play. Riya and Liang took a seat on the swing and looked at the garden.

"We can even have a picnic while we are on our lunch breaks.", she was pointing at the big ground.  

"Yeah. You can even play some games during your breaks.", he suggested.

"Good idea.", she looked at him while nodding. "Then the entrance to the kitchen will be the entrance for the staff."

"Yeah. Plus, there is plenty of parking by the main entrance. About fifty cars can fit in here."

"Yeah. I'm excited and nervous at the same time.", she was being honest. 

"Don't be. You will do well. Just stay positive.", he wrapped his arm around her. "Now the investigation is over. What are you doing next?"

"Resigning from my position. While I'm doing this job, I will also concentrate on my elimination list. I'm change the name to target list.", she answered.

"So, you are planning on putting them behind bars."

"I want them to confess first so the women and girls including the families will receive justice. So many women and girls are murdered, raped and kidnapped each day. Very little has been done. Plus, some societies still don't believe that women and girls should be educated and work to financially independent."

"They also not allowed to have that freedom.", he added to the conversation. "Do you think that filing a court case will help?"

"Whether it will help or not, we must still fight to stop gender-based violence. We need to encourage women and girls to stand up for themselves. If they are not going to stand up then nothing will be done. I know it's not simple but we can try.", she being outspoken in front of Liang for the first time. 

"All we need is to build a campaign, get supporters and rise our voices to fight for women empowerment. We also need to put all the gangsters behind bars."

"We have two biggest problems, Naveen and a gangster name Scarecrow."

"The most dangerous gangsters in the world?", he asked.

"Yep. He was involved in murdering those forty women and girls in 2018 during August. He still murders women and girls. But I haven't been receiving articles about him.", she looked at her phone. 

"Well, I'm sure we will find the articles when we are using the screens."

"Plus, we need to find proper evidence to bring these two men down. They do have friends who are working in the police force. The men must be paying them to swipe all the evidence under the carpet."

"That's completely madness. We have officers to protect the communities, not to work with the criminals and worrying about money.", he shook his head. 

"Disgraceful.", she also shook her head. Then she immediately thought about an idea. "Why don't we bring women into your group?", she looked at him with excitement. 

"Seriously."

"Yes. We can use your group as the campaign. Bring women and girls into the group. We can even teach them self-defense and how to use weapons properly."

He was thinking for a second. "That's actually not a bad idea.", he looked at her.

"We can have women and men in this campaign. There are men out there who willing to fight for women empowerment. We can also bring small campaigns that are fighting for women empowerment into our campaign. Then we can create a massive campaign.", that was her suggestions.

"I love the way you thinking but let's brainstorm it together with Bobby and Samantha. Let's see what they think."

"Yeah, let's do that."

They were looking at the garden in silence. They were in another world. Liang came out from his zone and looked at Riya. She was admiring the beauty of nature. He stared at her for a moment. He could also sense some anger in her. He was also angry that some people still treated women horribly in the twenty-first century. He also wanted gender-based violence to stop.
