Briar jumped as she heard the front door slam shut. She listened to the footsteps march up the stairs and in to the hallway. They stopped right before the person reached the room, she heard them take a deep breathe in and out. The person opened the door slowly, the person's head peeked around the room. Angelique smiled and walked up to Briar, she sat on the bed and looked at the letter she was holding.
"What's that?" She said looking at the black letter. The ink was a gold metallic color, the paper was neat and elegant.
"The Collins are having a Masquerade Ball" Briar said before handing her the paper.
"Well then let's go, let's show them what they missed out on" Angelique smirked mischievously it sent a shiver down Briar's spine.

Briar put on the finishing touches to her makeup before putting her mask on.
