What if as opposed to solving multiple problems about the mental shutdowns, the team was thrown into solving a smaller scale streak of murder, their personas summoning in similar ways to Futaba instead of Awakening on their own accord, and their shadows being themselves as opposed to those who tormented them in the past.
Nagisa's shadow: A puppet with his boss doing most of the work throughout the dungeon, which would look like a studio, with a lot of different sets throughout the rooms, and technology everywhere.
Kenji's Shadow: A princess shadow due to everyone seeing him as a she, the dungeon being a tower of books due to his love for books.
Yuya's Shadow: A lot similar to Mei's, which proves his devotion to her, his would just have a lot more dramatic and masochistic tendencies compared to hers.
Kuki's Shadow: A theatre with a shadow similar to Kanji's to be completely blunt and unsure how to explain it.
Kaede's Shadow: His shadow would actually be rather polite, with a messy dungeon that looks similar to an art studio, though when they try to take Kaede he goes into a full blown breakdown and identity crisis.
