'And I haven't really changed, yeah I'm just confident'

AUTHOR'S POV

Jimin was someone who abided by the rules, followed them like a mantis. He usually did what was right, not what he believed to be right. He knew that whatever he told Tori was the right thing to do, but right now, as he sat on the rooftop, his legs hanging from the edge of the wall, he felt like he did something wong.

The problem is that he wanted to be selfish, he had the moment, he had the chance but he couldn't do it. Why? Cause his mom once told him 'Be the better man'? Nope.

But because he knew that he'd be better than Jungkook if he followed what his mom said. He was still selfish in his decision, he knew that, but again he didn't want it right now.

The thing about crushes and love is quite weird, there are some people who are contended with a crush, someone who'd prolly reject you after you come to know they like you. They're selfish, pretty much self-sufficient with what they get, self-pleased with the version of you they've created in their head. They're happy with their decision, but Jimin knows that he's not one of them. But slowly, he's making himself into one. Why? To be the better man.

As if Tori'd come running to him when she realises that.

He knows that Tori is confused with her feelings now, heck he's getting confused about his too. But he wanted to be the mature one, so that probably when the sky falls and the Mt.Everest depletes, Tori will realise his heart.

It's weird how he kept thinking of how to make her fall for him, when she has already confessed. And he brutally rejected. Okay, maybe not brutally, but it was still frank and straight. No wonder Tori asked him whether he liked her or not.

The notifications kept on coming, making his screen light up every time, almost at the same speed as his thoughts. Finally, he gritted his teeth and unlocked his phone to see which idiot couldn't control his pants.

And then there was Soobin using his bright cheerful emojis asking where he was. He didn't mean to not attend the debate, he was just too tired, and emotionally exhausted to make sure someone else didn't lose his nerves on stage.

He didn't even open the app, scared that the message will get marked seen, and the next time he faces Soobin he'd face the 'ignoring' allegation.

And within those huge amounts of yellow shiny emojis, there was another notifiaction. A special one, the one that made his heart skip a beat as soon as he saw it. Tori asking him if he was okay.

Did she ask Jungkook this too? He couldn't help but wonder this, but instinctively he switched off his phone.

No, he needed to figure out what to do next. He couldn't let himself slip again.

Jimin slipped again, as soon as he saw her. Tori was in a long golden bodycon, the one he told looked sexy when she showed him the picture.

Oh shit, he's doomed.

She didn't see him yet, and he actually hoped she wouldn't. But when she whipped her head to the side, staring dead at Jimin's big round eyes he couldn't help but wonder if she heard how fast his heart was beating. She probably did, cause she turned beet root red and just awkwardly stood there.

The debate ended two or three hours ago, he'd been dodging calls and messages like a serpent but certainly didn't expect to run into her over in the theatre. It was usually empty, but clearly not right now.
