Chapter 19-Blood Pressure

I need to not get stressed out but that really isn't an option in my line of work. I don't think I've ever kept my guard down, and the last time was when my parents were alive and afterwards my life changed and I never had peace in my life. 

I decided to head over to Jenna's office to get my blood pressure taken. I was the only adult there without a kid. 

"Hi, I need to see Jenna asap" I said to the receptionist 

"She is currently with a patient right now" she replied looking up from her computer

"After she is done, tell its an emergency" I said giving a smile

"Patients name?" She asked

"Anastasia" I said

"Ok, I will tell her" She replied. I sat back down, waiting for my name to be called. The door opened and I see Jenna walking out waving goodbye to a young kid

"Stassie" She questioned

"I need you to check my blood pressure" I replied

"You couldn't do that elsewhere, not that I don't love you but you're at a pediatricians office" She stated extending her hand to survey the area showing it's all kids

"Can you just check" I begged 

"Fine, come on" she sighed. We walked towards a room where she started checking my blood pressure

"Why do you care so much all of a sudden?" She asked

"Dr. Williams won't treat Ella unless I get it checked, she said I will get a stroke or heart attack with my stress levels" I replied

"Well your levels are pretty high" she stated

"How high?" I questioned

"147/98" she stated

"That can't be, I'm not that stressed" I said

"Keep telling yourself that, you are very stressed. I don't think I've seen you not stressed. You are always stressed about work or the kids" She replied

"Well what do you expect, I have everyone riding on my back" I said

"You need to retire" she blurted 

"Retire" I scoffed

"You have the money, why not?" She questioned

"There will be no one to take over, I won't let the kids take over it and stefan won't get it back" I said

"There's gotta be someone who wants it, you have thousands of people following you" She stated making me think who I can really give it

"Maybe" I said

"Just think about it and bring down your blood pressure, it's pretty high and I still need my best friend" She said

"I'll try, thanks for seeing me" I replied

"No problem, I'll see you Saturday, right?" She asked

"Yeah, I'll be there" I replied

"Great, get home safe, love ya" She said

"Love ya too" I replied. I exited the office and before heading home I picked up my medication. Once I got home, I went back to work and texted Dr. Williams my blood pressure to which she responded I needed to bring it down asap.

I continued doing work for the rest of the day while the kids enjoyed their day with their dad, I wished I could join but work never stops for me sadly. 

"Stass" Stefan said popping into the office

"Yeah" I replied looking up from the computer

"The kids and I are going to get some dinner, want to come?" He asked
