Madrigal fam x reader: Run pt. 2

"Dinner?" I asked.

The woman nodded. "We would like to get to know you."

"Tia Julieta is making paella," Antonio said. "They're amazing!"

"Uhh I really would love to, but umm... I have to go," I lied. I couldn't stay in one place too long. The police would find me.

"Please?" Antonio asked. I looked down at him and he was giving me baby doll eyes. Could I say no? I mean I could, but it would break his heart. I can't break a little kid's heart!

I gave in. "Okay, I will." Antonio got so excited.

"Great! Lemme show you Casita and my room!" The little boy dragged me up some stairs that moved themselves. I held onto the railing and apparently that moved too. What the... I thought.

He then stopped in front of a door with himself and a bunch of animals on it along with his name. Interesting. He opened the door and I was amazed. There was a whole jungle in here! The birds flew across the ceilings. Rodents skittered from one end of the room to the other. It was incredible.

"Woah," I mumbled. There were vines hanging from branch to branch. 

"It's cool," he said. "I just wish Mirabel had one of her own." I raised an eyebrow. What did he mean he wishes Mirabel had one.

"That's a good wish. When's dinner?" I asked. I wanted to get out of there. I couldn't make the police come and raid the Madrigal's home.

I sat there at the dinner table along with the whole family. It was awkward. I got a lot of weird glances, but no one said anything. 

Once we all had our plates, all ready to eat, an older lady started talking, "Who are you?" I avoided eye contact with her, pretending like the question was directed towards someone else. 

Antonio nudged me. "She's talking to you," he whispered. 

I nodded. "Y/N." I took a sip of water.

"And are you one of my grandchildren's friends?"

"Uhh..."

"I met her today and she can shape shift," Camilo said. Now everyone was looking at me. The spotlight.

"That is true," I said quietly. I heard a knock at the door. My heart raced. Who was it? 

"I'll get that," Mirabel said, standing up. As she walked to the door, panic filled me once again. They couldn't have found me. Everyone went silent. 

"Mami," Mirabel said, walking in awkwardly, "the police are here. They said they're looking for a Y/N."

I stood up. "I have to hide," I whispered. 

"Either get your parent or we're barging in here!" I heard someone shout.

"I'll take her," a tall man said, standing up. "In my room."

"Are you sure?" asked the woman with grey hair.

"Yes Julieta. Come along." The man ran up the stairs while the woman named Julieta rushed to the door. I followed the man. He took me to a room which had him on it, with the name Bruno. It looked like Antonio's except personalized to him.

"Will they find me?" I asked. He opened the door and we both stepped in.

"No. I'm great at hiding. Hid in the walls for 10 years without anyone knowing. Well, except Dolores." I gave him a confused look behind his back. Hid in the walls? I decided to leave it alone.

I saw a room full of stairs that seemed like they would go on forever. The floor was sand. "We don't have to climb all of that, do we?" I asked.

Bruno sighed. "No, there's a secret door behind one of the rocks that has my bedroom and so on. The stairs will only make the police stop."

I nodded. "Let's go then." He lead me to a big rock and swung it opened like it was a door. We both walked in and he was right. There was a bathroom and bedroom. 

"Now stay here and don't leave," he said. Then he left me in his room alone. 

I sighed. "I'm always going to have to keep running, aren't I?" I sat on the ground.

5 minutes. 10 minutes. 20 minutes. 30 minutes. Almost an hour went by and nothing happened.

I was going to leave and get out of here. I went to the door and barely creaked it open when I saw him.
