Due to the amount of bulling, neglection and abuse Izuku is getting. He is spending more of his time alone and on the roof. Not doing anything. Even to go so far as to say in the roof during raining seasons. But One night after staying on the roof of a heavy rainstorm, he is struck by lighting and was found by his neglected father and brought to the hospital. Izuku Survives but can no longer do complex movement and can no longer speak and is bound to a wheelchair.
