LETTING Natasha go was the worst thing that Clint and Steve could have ever done. Steve knew he would never forgive himself for cheating on the love of his life, the most amazing woman in the world. Maybe if he had not cheated, he would have been able to persuade Natasha into not sacrificing herself.
As he was not able to do so, he went on with his empty life, trying to forget about this, however knowing deep inside that he could never forget Natasha.
Natasha's death impacted, inspired and revolutionised many, but only one lucky soul was truly loved (romantically) by her. His name was Steve Rogers.
As you might have expected, he did not return the stones and to Peggy, but instead kept his duty as an Avenger, and soon became the President.
