For my mother, whom I love even when it seems like I don't. If this doesn't show you that I love you, maybe I'll buy you pizza and then you'll realize I do.

Be the sun to my flowers,
Be the movies I watch for hours.

Be the rain to the grass that's dry,
Be the blue to the sky.

Be the comedy when I'm down,
Be the "happy birthday" clown.

Be the flavor to my shake,
Be the food that people make.

Be the plants, because I need you,
Be the tricks old dogs could do.

Be the red on the barn,
Be the cats favorite yarn.

Be the bird singing in the tree,
Be the eagle who is free.

Be the yellow line on the road,
Be the warts to the toad.

Be the nurse after a fall,
Be hot topic in a mall.

Be the hardware to the hank,
Be the pans we all love to clank.

Be a roof to my house,
Be the whiskers on a mouse.

Be a wooden porch,
Be a dark cavern's torch.

Be the sign on a curb,
Be a witch's herb.

Be the disappointment to my grades,
Be a rat and how it behaves.

Be the butter to my toast,
Be the spaghetti I love the most.

Be the shirt I love to wear,
Be the person who loves to care.

Be the course I must race,
Be the lawyer's case.

Be the deer who runs in the field,
Be the sword that you'll yield.

Be the trees in the woods,
Be the person you wish you could.

Be the twist on the sidewalk,
Be the person who loves to talk.

Be the thumbs up when I'm good,
Be the small vehicle's hood.

Be the color to my pale skin,
Be the symbol when we begin.

Be the current to the lake,
Be there everyday when I wake.

Be the cookie to the cream,
Be the best to you and me.

Be the voice we love to hear,
Be my voice when I have fear,
Be the person we love so dear.
