❣︎♥︎❣︎

Christmas had always been the best holiday among all, especially when you're studying at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There was a lot of reason to enjoy it. From the decorations to the food to the overall joy you might feel with the spirit of the holiday. Only one person, however, was looking gloomy as Christmas approached.

Harry looked over his shoulder only to see the girl of his dreams talking to Cedric Diggory. He stared at her as she smiled and laughed with the seventh year boy. He wished that he was the one who was making her smile like that.

He looked away from them. He couldn't take any more second to watch them. It was breaking his heart and smashing it into million pieces.

"I told you to get a move from her before, didn't I?" Hermione whispered on his right ear.

He looked around to see Hermione and Ron beside him in the Gryffindor table. He was too preoccupied with secret plans with (Y/N) if he was her boyfriend that he didn't notice his best friends' arrival. He pulled a plate of egg towards him and didn't answer Hermione.

"Cheer up, mate." said Ron, patting his shoulder for an attempt to cheer him up. "You can find other girls in here. You're still fourteen."

Harry hummed, but not because he was agreeing. He did that just for Ron to shut up.

"Look, Harry." said Hermione again. "Ginny still likes you. Why don't you try it?"

"Ginny?" Ron hissed to Hermione, who shot him a warning look. "Oh, sorry... I mean, really? Ginny?"

"Yes, Ginny. Your sister, Ginny." Hermione hissed back. "I just had a talk to her and had slipped that she still likes Harry."

Harry, whose head was floating in the air, turned to look at Ginny, who was talking to Neville, and tried to feel his body if he could react in the same way his body was reacting towards (Y/N). He tried to think that Ginny was prettier, smarter, and nicer than (Y/N). He tried to think that Ginny can be a better candidate for him than (Y/N). But, damn, his mind was wandering around the Ravenclaw girl and only her. He just couldn't look for somebody else when she was around.

"So, Harry?" Hermione asked Harry, who removed his gaze upon Ginny and faced his plate again. "What do you think?"

"I can't." said Harry blankly.

"But why?" said Hermione, aghast.

"Because I can't." Harry said smoothly. "As easy as that."

He then stood up and turned. He ignored Hermione's questions and Ron's disappointment as he walked out of the Great Hall with a plan to stay near the lake until the cold afternoon leave. He wanted to be alone with his thoughts.

He didn't know how he had fallen that hard on (Y/N) (L/N), the Ravenclaw girl whose intelligence was beyond any other, whose kindness reached the top and whose prettiness could range the peak. He didn't know why among all the girls in Hogwarts, he chose the girl that he will never have. Maybe people would think that being the Boy Who Lived had this certain advantage of gaining every girl's attention. Little did they know, at this point of his life, he just wished that this advantage was true.

He couldn't get enough of her. She was so smart that she can actually ascend into becoming a seventh year if Professor Flitwick hadn't been stopping himself from doing so. She was so kind that she even had befriended Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini, the three Slytherin bullies, and mind, she was not a Hufflepuff. She was so beautiful that Harry kept on doubting if she was even real and not just a result of his hallucination.
