A/N There is a few song lyrics in this chapter. "Angel Of Mine" By Monica
The next day Emma and Derek were at the swimming pool at the hotel. Derek was asleep in the lounge chair, while Emma sat next to him bored. The pool was occupied by kids and a few adults.
Emma looked over the fence out at the ocean with a sigh. If she was going to go swimming, she'd rather go swimming in the ocean, not a pool. But Derek didn't like the ocean. Emma's eyes caught sight of someone walking by down on the beach.
Her mouth curved up into a smile. It was Riley. The woman was walking along with her hands in her pockets. Emma stirred and got up from her seat. She looked back down at Derek to make sure he was still asleep.
Then she moved over to the fence. She lifted her phone up and went to her contacts and found Riley's number. She hit the call button and watched Riley. Emma watched as Riley stopped walking and pulled her phone out of her pocket.
Riley looked at her phone and then answered it. "Hello beautiful." Riley greeted. Emma's smile grew bigger. "Hey there cutie, come here often?" Emma asked, a smile playing on her lips. Riley quickly scanned the beach.
"I will if you're going to be here," Riley replied still looking along the beach. "I'm not on the beach." Emma explained simply. "Okay," Riley said slowly. "Turn around." Emma said next. Riley slowly turned around and was now looking back the way she had come.
Emma giggled. "You turned too far." Emma replied. Riley started turning again. She ended up turning her back to Emma. "No silly," Emma exclaimed with another giggle. "Behind you, over by the palm trees."
Riley turned around and spotted the palm trees and then spotted Emma. She broke out into a smile as she started walking towards the woman. They both disconnected the call. "You're not very good with directions, are you?"
Emma asked when Riley reached her. "I thought I was," Riley answered good naturedly. "So, what are you up to?" Riley asked her. She leaned her elbows on the brick wall. "Derek wanted to hang out at the pool today." Emma explained.
Riley frowned. "He wanted to go to the pool when the ocean is right here?" Riley asked. "Yup, he doesn't like ocean water. He says it's unsanitary." Emma explained with a nod. She half turned and pointed over at the man.
"He's the one in the dark blue trunks, with sunglasses on." Riley peered around Emma. When Emma looked back at Riley, she saw Riley make kind of a disgusted face. "What was that for?" Emma asked with a frown.
"He's all hairy," Riley confessed. Emma laughed out right. "What, you don't like a hairy chest?" Emma asked her teasingly. "No ma'am I do not," Riley said quickly shaking her head. "What about you, do you?"
Riley asked gazing at Emma. The woman shrugged her shoulders. "I guess I'm not really fond of a hairy chest myself." Emma admitted. Riley only nodded. There was a break in the conversation, and the two just stood in silence.
Finally, Emma broke the silence. "So, would you like to see my hotel room? We got a suite actually," Emma asked watching the other woman closely. Riley looked over at her. "What about him?" Riley asked nodding towards Derek.
"He took a sleeping pill; he'll be out for a few hours." Emma answered easily. "What if he wakes up?" Riley asked next. "I'm gonna take my bag with me, which has both of our keys for the room."
"If he does wake up, he'll more than likely call or text me to find out where I went." Emma explained. "So, what do you say?" Emma asked her, watching Riley intently. "Uhm, okay," Riley finally answered.
