Chapter 38

'Answer the question' kellie says.
'It's Alex' the voice says.
'What do you want?' she asks him.
She holds her sword close to him.

'I-I want to work with you guys' he says nervously.
'What makes you think I'm gonna believe that?'

'You believed josh.' he states.
She sighs.
She lowers her sword and gets up off of him.

'Get up' she says. He stands up quickly.
'Josh proved to us that we could trust him' kellie says.
'I can prove that you can trust me!' he says 'just give me a chance'

'How?' I ask which makes them both jump.
'Adam. you're supposed to be watching precious and Kyle!' kellie scolds me.
'You were gone for a while so I came to see what happened.' I say.

'Now. how will you prove it to us?'
'I'll-'

He's cut off by a scream.
'Precious!' kellie shouts.
She darts off in the direction of the screams.
'Time to prove yourself' I say and pull Alex to the screams.

The three of us see precious and Kyle, in front of them stands Ryan with what looks like an enchanted sword.

Kyle steps in front of precious to protect her.
'Don't touch her' He warns Ryan.

'Both of you. come with me' Ryan says.
He points his sword at them.

'Hey!' I shout. the three of them turn around to look at us.
'Put the sword down' I say.

Both me and kellie point our swords at Ryan.
He freezes. 'okay' he says calmly.

He carefully places the sword on the ground.
'Kick it over here' I command.

He kicks the sword in my direction and I pick it up.
I turn to look at Alex.
'Can I trust you?' I ask.

He nods. 'yes, you can trust me' he says.
I hand him my sword and keep the enchanted one to myself.

'Please, don't kill me' Ryan begs us.
'We have every right to kill you' I say.
'But we're not gonna'

'W-what?' he asks.
'We're not gonna kill you' I say 'instead your gonna come with us' I say.

'What?' he asks.
'You heard him' kellie speaks up.
'You're coming with us'

I point the sword at him. 'Well? are you just gonna stand there?' I say.
'Get over here!' I almost shout.

He walks slowly towards me and kellie goes over to Kyle and precious.

I grab one arm and Alex grabs the other.

'Lets go'

Precious' POV

'You two okay?' kellie asks us.
I nod slowly. 'c'mon, stay behind me' she says.

The two of us walk behind her as Adam and Alex lead us down the mountain.

Kyle grabs my hand and squeezes.
I immediately squeeze back.

'I can't believe you...' I hear Ryan spit at Alex.
'I told you. I don't want to work for them anymore!' Alex shouts at him.
'Oh I see what's going on....' Ryan says.

'It's about HER isn't it?' he asks.
'Shut up' Alex mutters.
'You've turned soft because you're in love'

'Shut up!' he says loudly.

I remember now!
