The sunset's glow transformed Paris into a sight to behold. But despite its beauty, Adrien didn't take notice of it. Instead, he gazed down from the Eiffel tower thinking about how crazy this day has been for him.
It wasn't unusual for such thing to happen to him. In fact, it was such a common occurrence-being a superhero-that normally it wouldn't faze him. But today was an exception. What he found out just a few hours earlier has shaken his whole world down to its core.
First, his father was none other than Shadowmoth himself. The same villain that he struggled to fight every single day. The same villain that haunted his life; endangering it on every waking moment. And the same villain that raised him since he was a child. Perhaps "raised" is an exaggeration. His father, Gabriel, barely has ever been in his life. And right now, he isn't even sure if he is his father.
He opened his palm. On it was a silver ring; it felt heavy on his hands. It was a ring that he has always been seeing even as a child. Back then, he would always ask his mother what it was for, why does she wear it everyday, and several other questions. Adrien has always been attracted to it. And now... He knows why.
"I knew I would find you here." A voice made him turned around. There he saw a blonde guy that wore what it looks like the suit of a peacock miraculous holder. And, unlike the some of the other holders, he know who this is. And even if he didn't... Adrien thinks that he would have been able to find out.
"Hehehe. Sorry," he said, scratching his head. "So... What made you come here? I mean... It's unusual for you to look for me. Normally you wouldn't"
"Yeah... Your right about that." The other boy sighed. "But a certain woman threatened to take back the miraculous if I didn't."
Adrien giggled, "Who?"
"Take a wild guess."
"Marinette." He said, knowing it was the obvious answer.
The other person sighed while shaking his head. "At least you know that."
"Yeah..." Adrien scratched the back of head sheepishly. "So... Félix, how are you? Uhmmm... After that."
He looked down. Pondering if he shouldn't have asked. But he can't retract the question now, can't he?
"Do you mean... That?" Adrien heard footsteps approaching him and soon, Félix was sitting beside him. "I- It... Fine. I already knew so... How about you?"
The question lingered in the air and Adrien regretted that he even tried to open that conversation. It was still awkward and most of all... It still pains him to think about it.
"I... Don't know." Was the only thing he could answer. "I really don't. It still feels like everything that happened is only a dream."
"Tell me about it." Félix muttered.
"And It's not every day you would find out that all along your father was actually the villain you have been fighting everyday. Or that your cousin was actually your twin. And that-" he clenched his fist. He felt his throat dry up and small tears form on his eyes. "All along you were not even human. That all along I'm a monster-a sentimonster."
"Tsk... You do understand that calling yourself a monster is like calling me one too." Félix said in annoyance.
"Oh... Sorry." Adrien smiled at him apologetically but it was also laced with bitterness.
"Don't say sorry. I understand. I should be the one to say it." Félix said. "You already have a lot on your shoulders but I foolishly told you. That you know..."
"It doesn't matter." Adrien answered. "I would've found out eventually."
"But still... I could've withhold it until your ready."
"There is no such thing as 'ready' Félix. I... No matter how much preparation I do. It doesn't change the fact that-that..." He doesn't want to say it. But he knew he had to. "I'm not human."
It came out more as a whisper. It drifted along the wind. No one spoke at that moment. It was just silent. Thoughts whirled in the boy's mind and it getting twisted every single second. Each thought fixated on the last statement he said.
"You know... It doesn't really matter does it?" Félix broke the silence.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Well... You still have feelings right? You can still think. You still have your own will. And nobody..." Félix looked at him. "And I mean nobody will ever be able to take advantage of you. No one."
Adrien thought about what he said and his eyes slowly drifted on the ring on his palm. It was so small yet one mistake, if he ever become careless enough, it would break. And his life would end.
"I don't know Félix-"
"Fé... Y-you can call me Fé" Adrien snapped his attention to his "twin" and raised an eyebrow. Félix wasn't looking at him but he was certain he saw a blush on his cheeks. He giggled at that sight.
"Fé... It's that... It still feels weird knowing all this in just a day. I keep asking myself on whether it's okay for me to even have the miraculous? Aren't I a risk? Or am I even real?" Adrien said, chuckling bitterly. "Because even though I feel that I'm real. A part of myself screams at me that I am not. That-"
"But you are." Félix cut him off. "I know and understand it's hard for you. I experienced it as well when I first found out. But... Unlike me. You are not alone. You have your friends. Marinette. And me....
We are twins Adrien. Not in the conventional way. But we still are. We are made of the same essence. The same emotion. You can even say we are of the same feather."
Adrien laughed at that remark. And Félix grinned at that.
"Don't worry... We will get through this."
"Thanks." Adrien said. "Fé..."
He then looked at his front and finally, he noticed the sunset that he has been basking on ever since he went there earlier. Deep inside him, there is still hesitation. But even so... One day... He will be able to get through this.
